    Flash CS4 Professional On Demand

I found this book on Flash and it was like finding gold. I am self taught in the area of web design. I decided to teach myself flash since courses on flash are too expensive. At Barnes and Noble I compared this book to other books on flash development and found that it was definitely different in its approach. What I like about it is how it is arranged. As an example,if you need to know how to use the Flash's Timeline you can look for this topic in the books table of contents and go to its location in the book.At that location you actually see the flash interface and it is numbered and those numbers have associated explanations. It is like following the bouncing ball while concepts on how to use flash are being clarified. I am a hands on learner and this book seems to have been written for my type. I hate books where you have lenghty verbiage on how to do something whereas it could have been explained in a simpler fashion.I believe that the On Demand series keeps things simple and it is refreshing to learn about a subject in such a simple and clear fashion. I am definitely getting the other "On Demand" book series dealing with Photoshop,Dreamweaver, illustrator and Lightroom 2. I highly recommend this book due to its clarity in its explanation of concepts of the Flash program.

    Gets the job done

It's a good book, but I think some of the things in it are very redundant. The way it is organized, unless you absolutely have no clue as to how to use a computer, is very repetitive. I would have bought the Adobe Classroom in a Book version instead if I had the choice from the start.
