Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
GoLive by Adobe is the truest of the drag-and-drop graphical interface tools for web design in which the designer does not need to go into the source code to create an amazingly cool design very quickly. Granted, understanding and diving into the code makes the designer that much more powerful, but with GoLive it's not necessary. Peachpit's "Classroom in a Book" series is excellent in general, and this book follows suit. Written for both Mac and Windows users, the self-paced text offers real-world projects, illustrations, and step-by-step instruction on how to achieve the effects on the screen. All project files are on the CD-ROM, but you will need the GoLive software, which is available on Adobe's web site with a 30-day free download. Recommended for all libraries. Great Manual for Beginners and HTML Gurus

This manual will get anyone up and running on GoLive in a couple days of concentrated effort. GoLive 4.0 is an incredible program, second to none, and this manual and CD help you quickly master it and discover the many timesaving benefits and golden nuggets the software has to offer that you might not otherwise discover yourself. GoLive comes with a great manual and training video but the Classroom in a Book presents it in a way that is easier to learn and in appropriate order, with useful hands on projects.

    Nothing more than a Manual

The book it's self, is a very good book, well illustrated with good text, but.. If you own the boxed software from Adobe (which I hope you do), then you already have a comparable book. Tutorials can even be downloaded from Adobe.com and are every bit as good as the CD. If you're the type of person that learns best by going through a step by step routine than go for it. If you're looking for a detailed or in depth how-to supplement to extended features, this is not it.
