good companion to a standard GoLive text

Adobe offers GoLive as a powerful tool to build pages in a website. It is complicated enough that the authors of this book present 200 tips, to perform common and useful tasks. The contents pages show a titular summary of the tips. Given that GoLive is from Adobe, it's no surprise to see an emphasis on the visual presentation of the pages. Typical is a tip about writing links in PDF documents, or another tip about converting an HTML file, and any associated referenced images, into a single PDF document. Of course, there are also several tips involving Adobe's flagship Photoshop. Overall, the tips seem straightforward to understand and do. This appears to have been a deliberate choice by the authors. The book is most useful if you already have the basics of GoLive. A good companion to a standard text on GoLive.

    Tips and Tricks that Work

This book has greatly disrupted my life. I keep on sitting down in my chair in the living room with this book, and usually about the 3rd tip or trick, I've simply got to get up from my chair, go back into my office, open up GoLive (if not already open) on my computer and then with this book opened on the desktop next to my keyboard and mouse, I learn something new. These tips and tricks are working tips and tricks. What I mean by that is that almost all of them aim to increase your productivity when using GoLive; they are things that are not mere golly, geewhiz features, but features that a working person needs; they show the result of actually using the product in a production environment. In a nutshell, this book puts at your fingertips the best tips and tricks that could be gleaned from reading the various GoLive forums, keeping notes, testing, and then keeping the best of the best in a bound notebook. But do not expect to be able to sit for long with this book in your easy chair - you will almost find yourself forced to get up and start trying them out. And on the things that you think you already think you know...read closely...this book will teach you how to do them better, easier, and in less time. I could go on, but while I was writing this, I see a tip I'm just itching to try....
