Overview

Photoshop 5.0, Adobe's powerful image manipulation tool, continues to set the industry standard for graphics professionals and hobbyists alike. New features, such as the History Palette, spot color channels, and an automated effects function, make the latest version even richer than before.

The best selling Photoshop tutorial, Adobe Photoshop 5.0 Classroom in a Book, has been revised to cover all the new Web graphics features of Photoshop 5.0, and to deepen the instruction in creating and optimizing images destined for the Web.

Beginning to intermediate users of Photoshop will find the basics covered in the introductory lessons: getting comfortable with the Photoshop interface, using the toolbox and palettes, and working with layers and filters. Using the building-block approach, the Adobe Development team then leads readers into more complex tasks of image editing and photo retouching.
