Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
This sumptuously illustrated book takes readers beyond the basics, guiding them through the myriad possibilities of digital photography. The author of a number of popular photo guides, notably on digital photography (see below), Ang first discusses digital imaging principles and offers tips on mastering hardware (cameras and scanners). However, he devotes most of the book to advanced image manipulation-mastering tone control, dodging and burning, retouching, "painting," controlling color, compositing, sharpening images, and many other creative possibilities. He also addresses the digital "darkroom," image organization, and the output of images. The reference section includes a useful glossary along with recommended books and web sites. The illustrations are exquisite. Highly recommended for all photography collections. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
