Description: This is a nice, current "one-stop shop" book on small animal emergency care logically organized by organ system and general topics.
Purpose: It is dedicated specifically to the everyday practice of small animal emergency medicine.
Audience: It is designed so that every person on the small animal emergency team can have a single reference to help improve and expand the practice standard of care.
Features: The book begins with triage, then moves on to ER and ICU set up. Organ systems are next, along with general topics such as analgesia/anesthesia, infection control, and specific nursing considerations. There are many references, and where there are none currently available, the book provides information based on author experience.
Assessment: This is a complete and well-referenced compilation of relevant information small animal emergency care.
