The book is organized by activity, with a geographical index for those who choose their destination before wondering what to do there. Approximately 75% of the trips are professionally guided and outfitted. For the rest, this book is your only guide.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
Veteran travelers Bair and Wright have put together a delightful book of outdoor activities that could be enjoyed year-round by individuals or families. Although limited geographically to areas in New England, the activities include the usual (sailing, fishing, and skiing) to the unusual (wilderness exploration, hot-air ballooning, and sky diving), to name a few. Each description includes travel directions, costs, skill levels with appropriate age levels, and equipment needed. At the end of each activity is a list of other sites and books. This guide should be a welcome addition to any public library.Andrea C. McElrath, St. John's Univ., Staten Island, N.Y.
