Overview

Huckleberry Finn is a 12 year old boy who is not enjoying his childhood very much. His father is the town drunk, so Mrs. Douglas, a widow, takes Huck in to make a proper gentleman out of him. Huck wants none of it - going to school, going to church, getting dressed up and he doesn't like his tutor Miss Watson.

Huck decides to run away, but he is found by Tom Sawyer who convinces Huck to return home. Huck and Tom had found some hidden treasure a while back and when Huck's father hears of it, he comes back after Huck's money. Huck is able to elude his father until his father catches him and drags him off to be locked in a cabin in the woods three miles down river. Huck's father beats him for months, until he is able to escape - leaving a trail of pig's blood so his father thinks he is dead.

This is just the start of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". You'll enjoy following him through all the pickles he finds himself in and how he always manages to escape.
