    Good as trail guide

Adventuring is a good introduction to various California desert state and federal parks and trails, and has a fair amount of information for the average sightseer or motorist. I would NOT recommend this book for those desiring to hone their survival skills for long distance hikes on unmarked trails, or for camping/backpacking in remote deserts - for that, a book like the Ultimate Desert Handbook covers far more material and in much greater detail.
