More About This Product

Overview

This application is recommended for ages 10+.

AE Morse is an Android application that teaches you Morse code (CW
Continuous Wave).

It has an interactive screen for learning the alphabet plus much more.
The best way to learn Morse code is by ear. AE Morse plays actual
Morse code sound instead of just blinking or vibrating your device.

AE Morse Tutor is only recommended for anyone who wants to learn CW.
It is not recommended for someone who already knows CW at 20 words per
minute or more.

The developer is an Extra class amateur radio operator and has held an
amateur radio license for over 30 years, and has loved communicating
using Morse Code (CW), and wanted to provide a learning tool for
anyone who is new to amateur radio and interested in using CW to
enhance his or her amateur radio experience.

CW can successfully be received under some conditions where voice can
not. You can tune out more of the interference on a received CW
message using a decent ham radio. Having the skill of CW can be an
asset during emergency situations where other forms of communication
may not be possible.

Excellent tool for lerning CW for Nook

I wrote the earlier reveiw about the sound issue. This has been resolved and the CW trainer works great! This will be very useful for me to learn code.

Feature request (if possible?) -- In word practice mode, it would be neat if, instead of the words being displyed, an edibox is displayed and the user enters the word group sent by the trainer. When the trainer has completed sending a group of words, after a sport delay ( needed to enter the last few letters into the edit box) the app could display 2 rows - sent and "copied" chacters.

    Great progam and THANKS!!!!!!

    Neat cw trainer

I have been a ham since '75 passed extra cw test in '92 .
The keyer tone can be adjusted to a tune that I don't ,but other setting worked great. Great way to learn code as there are not a list of dot and dashes to slow down the learning process. Good luck and I hope to hear you on the lower end of the bands. SK.

    Great program but....

I like the variety of learning exercises but like the other reviewer being able to see the dots and dashes as the letters are keyed and played back would help
