Aesop is the brand name for "wisdom". I grew up guided by his moral that became my principles of life- my mom use to lecture it to mee every day; I raise my daughter in the spirit of his wisdom and now I start to decode his fables meaning to my beloved grandson. There is no way to "travel" in our complicate life without reading Aesop's book. He helps us to decode every human act that exist and to transform it into an unforgettable lesson. It teach you that "trators may expect treachery" or that "the deceitful have no friends" or do not play tricks to your neighbors unless you can stand the same treatment yourself" or even " do not count your chickens before they are hatched" and that "the honesty is the best policy" and "in unity is streight" or hurry up slowly, slowly but surely and so on. All these morals are the conclusions of short stories having the animals as caracters, so to be more touching for children. "Aesop for Children" is conceived as a message through generations for a well living life; it is work of wisdom for the little minds and more... "Aesop for Children" is a very useful and nice book easy to be read and understood by children; the pictures are very attractive; the cover, that looks like a framed picture is in the main time resistent to the little, sometimes, careless hands. Our little one love this book so much that he take it from his library's shelf and give it to me to read it to him any time I enter in his room... and every body knows how difficult is to find some thing appropriate for children that they would like and learn. LOVELY in one word.

Aesop's Fables are, of course, timeless stories you've no doubt read or heard in various forms throughout your life. This volume presents them as closely to their original form as any collection I've seen. This is both a positive attribute and one not so positive. For and adult revisiting the fables, you'll find it rekindles old memories and presents the collection is a form you may not have seen before. As material to read to very young children, however, it may seem confusing, as most of the characters are animal-to-animal rather than a human being played against another person or perhaps an animal. This makes it difficult for the very young to grasp the meaning behind the stories, as they may not be able to envision two animals in these situations. You may spend as much times trying to equate the animals' actions with those of humans as you will reading and enjoying the stories. The binding and illustrations are beautifully rendered and add a sense of nostalgia to book and its pages. If you are buying this for yourself or an older child, it's an excellent choice. If you're considering it for a young child, you may do well to consider a more modernized version with which they will better relate.
