Meet the Author

I was born in the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago and attended Queen’s Royal College. I participated in many extra-curricular activities such as being on the school’s committee for the Inter-School’s Christian Fellowship (ISCF) holding meetings on a weekly basis to discuss and debate varying problems facing the youth in the college from a Christian point of view. I captained the football team at the U-14 level where we made it to the zonal finals. That season I was awarded the “Player of the Year” award, the “Best Defender” award and the “Most Valuable Player” award. It was at this point that I dropped sports to follow my passion for the creative arts. This is where I picked up the guitar and made singing a priority. I was taught by one of the Best instructors in the country, Shallun Sammy (ex Skid’Nevely, current Five Miles To Midnight) guitarist, I seemed to pick up things pretty fast. I also picked up acting and made my debut at the National Academy for Performing Arts (NAPA) in the Broadway Musical Hit ‘West Side Story’.During this time I began performing at various ‘Open Mic’ events to gain performance experience with music and poetry. With encouraging reactions from the crowds I continued to perform and write. I had his poem ‘Daymare’ featured in the Trinidad & Tobago National Poetry Day, where it won first place poem reading. I am also a member of the Trinidad & Tobago Poet’s Society and a number of other poetry groups. I entered The Allen Prize for Young Writers and was a finalist in 2011 then won the Senior Poetry category in 2012. Many my poetic works were published in the popular student paper ‘The Student Press’ . I also began to compose original music at this time.In 2011, I began a writing project. I desired to publish my poetry. I began contacting publishing houses and authors. After a couple bad offers from publishing houses I decided to do it myself. After serious research, I self-published the first volume of my Collection of Poetry. It is entitled “Affections: Collection of Poetry Volume One” and is available on every major online retailer including: Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Kobo, Sony E-reader and I-tunes.In an effort to further grow my market for an online readership, I began learning the art of Spoken Word Poetry. I attended the first ever Official Spoken Word Class in the Caribbean. It was a class in the University of the Southern Caribbean entitled “SWRD101 Foundations of Spoken Word”. It was put on by the 2cents movement. I then joined the movement as an official Spoken Word Artist and has been performing even more in an effort to market my book.Currently, I am pursuing my B.A in Theology & Religion at the University of the Southern Caribbean. I teach Religious Instruction part time in Queen’s Royal College. I am also versed in the languages of English, Spanish, French and I am currently learning Biblical (Koine) Greek.

    You are

The first poem took my heart along with my breath. I think I'm in love with love. The poet is a harpest tugging at my affections, the lyrics to this silent symphoney will never stop haunting me. Words cannot say how eloquent poetry can be. What a lovely paradox. My heart id lost in dreams, and my head is beating to loud. I feel faint, yet complete. Catch meee...
