I have owned this book for many years and have purchased one for my cousin and am now purchasing another for my daughter. I find the recipes in this book not only easy to follow, but delicious too! This book is a must have for any cookbook library. The TEACAKES, POUND CAKE and DIRTY RICE alone are worth the price of this book.

This is The BEST cookbood I have ever used. When my husband first brought it home (we have no children) I thought it was an insult to our cooking abilities to use a 'children's' cookbook. But to the contrary. It really took the mystery out of producing those delicious AfrAm meals our mothers had done while we were in their homes. Now we can fix them ourselves. The instructions are easy-to-follow and precise. Plus there's AfrAm history mixed throughout the book, with Kwanzaa topics too.
