I agree with the previous review. This is a definitive collection for anyone who loved the '80's underground. I have always been a huge fan of nearly everyone of these bands. Talk about bringing back memories!

The cd starts with Away by the Bolshoi, sure to bring back memories and a sly grin to your face as you remember 'the underground clubs'. Both Bauhaus and Love and Rockets have hits in this exclusive cd, but the cover of Paint It Black will have you singing along in no time. Break out the cloves, eyeliner, and black clothing....here we go again! Awesome cd. I loved it!

I bought this randomly at B&N one day while perusing the music endcaps. I fell in love with this CD and have since downloaded many songs from the artists featured here. It leaves off Siouxsie & The Banshees, though.
Barnes & Noble: Please make a follow-up 2nd Volume.
Thanks!!

If you've ever been interested in the goth/industrial genre of music, this is the most robust collection I've seen, and definitely worth the buy.
Granted, if you're already smoking cloves at the diner at 3 AM, you'll likely have most, if not all, the music on this album.
The only real negative thing I can attribute to it is that I can most assuredly contribute the production of this album as some bizarre money grab at the embarrassing amount of undeserved income that "Twilight" is generating (lampshaded by the fact that this was on the display for that sad ripoff of Anne Rice).
While not all of the tracks are from the early eighties, they all sync into that feel and sound. I find this CD to be relaxing and a nice trip down memory lane.
