As usual, she writes great books.

This is a great book for starting out. Incredibly easy to follow. The one thing I wished she had done with the tutorials was building the project from scratch. The more advanced tutorials had pre made projects already. I really only used about 40% of the book. I knew the basics and just wanted to get into the 3D, lighting, and camera concepts. She didn't cover them completely, but good enough to get the basics down. I'd recommend this book as a jumping off point. Read it, do the tutorials, and then immediately jum p to a more advanced book.
