    Highly Entertaining

Great book with characters that come to life. I fell in love with the characters.

After Ten is an interesting story about the trials of growing up

After Ten is an interesting story about the trials of growing up and how things aren't always what you think they'll be. Michele Shriver does a great job in this book of showing us the lives of four friends from law school, ten years after they graduate.

I love seeing how things in their lives did (or didn't) go according to plan in the years since the women parted ways. It all builds until we see their reunion with each other, none of them knowing whether friendship can be repaired after feelings that were hurt in the past.

I read this book in just three days once I started it. The beginning started out a little different, and it took me time to get used to going between present day and flashbacks, but overall it worked once I became accustomed to it.

I admire the way this author doesn't shy away from writing about tough issues. Terrific novel and I can't wait for Michele Shriver's next one.

    more from this reviewer

    well-plotted and character-driven

This is a wonderful book that is well-plotted and character-driven. For the bulk of the story, each chapter rotates through one of the four main characters in either the past or present. This really helps to get a good sense of each character, and assists in moving the story swiftly along through a ten-year period without it dragging or seeming repetitive. I also like how the author does not shy away from difficult issues, like same-sex relationships and the difficulty of adopting, as this gives another unique dimension to the story. I would have liked to see perhaps some more diversity in terms of social and racial demographics, as this could have made the narrative even richer. However, it is still an excellent choice for any reader who is looking for a good women’s fiction novel to curl up with. Margo Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance and More

    Fun weekend read

This was a fun weekend read. The story had a little bit of everything that women go through. I really enjoyed how it showed that things change yet true friends will be there when you need them. Even if you have not talked to each other in in ten years. I enjoyed all of the characters and was really wanted Tracy and Steve to get back together.
