The lush musical arrangements of "After the Fair" create a dreamlike landscape for Tish Hinojosa's voice to roam in. The listener is soon along for the journey, meandering down cobblestone streets, floating on a Ferris wheel, and pondering an endless starlit sky. Welcome to the fair. La fería. Cotton candy, colored horses circling, children and laughter. Some people are left out, and others end up splattered with flying vomit from above. The flip side of the sunny "Infinity Times Ten" and the uptempo 60s sound of "Tu Canción", is the sung question, "What does it mean, this crazy old dream, empty and darkened places I've been?" Every song here is a keeper, but the masterpieces are "Cobblestones", "Me Captivó con su Mirar", and "Crazy Old Dream". Five stars for this magical album.
