Overview

Rachel gave up seeking a Master years ago. After a failed marriage and terrible tragedy, she's walled her soul against going down that dangerous path again. Then Jon joins her yoga class. He's thirteen years younger than she, but his Dominant nature threatens her shields from the moment she recognizes it. Not only does he understand what her body wants-he knows what her soul craves.

Part of the five-man executive team of Kensington & Associates, Jon uses his calm, philosophical nature to defuse volatile acquisition negotiations. He can compel opponents to willingly surrender when he draws the sword that closes the deal. As a sexual Dominant, he employs that same expertise. A spiritually driven Master who enjoys connecting with a woman's soul, he wins her utter submission with his skills. But with Rachel, it goes beyond that. She's the submissive his own soul has always hungered to have, and he won't hesitate to use his talents, as well as that of the other four K&A men, to claim her.

Meet the Author

Joey W. Hill writes about vampires, mermaids, boardroom executives, cops, witches, angels, simple housemaids... She's penned over forty acclaimed titles and six award-winning series, and been awarded the RT Book Reviews Career Achievement Award for Erotica. But she's especially proud and humbled to have won the support and enthusiasm of a wonderful, widely diverse readership.
So why erotic romance? “Writing great erotic romance is all about exploring the true face of who we are – the best and worst - which typically comes out in the most vulnerable moments of sexual intimacy.” She has earned a reputation for writing BDSM romance that not only wins her fans of that genre, but readers who would “never” read BDSM romance. She believes that's because strong, compelling characters are the most important part of her books.
“Whatever genre you’re writing, if the characters are captivating and sympathetic, the readers are going to want to see what happens to them. That was the defining element of the romances I loved most and which shaped my own writing. Bringing characters together who have numerous emotional obstacles standing in their way, watching them reach a soul-deep understanding of one another through the expression of their darkest sexual needs, and then growing from that understanding into love - that's the kind of story I love to write."
Take the plunge with her, and don't hesitate to let her know what you think of her work, good or bad. She thrives on feedback!

Rachel's story is one that will pull at even the toughest heart strings. It was obvious to me from the beginning why no ordinary relationship would work for her. She needed a man who would help build up what her ex-husband tore down so she could become the confident woman she deserved to be. Everything about her screamed submissive and she doesn't need just any dominant to accomplish this -- she needed Jon. I have a feeling that anyone would submit to Jon. The author did a great job displaying his strength without making him harsh. As a reader I found myself wanting to do whatever he demanded along with Rachel; that is how much power he wields. His character had me asking myself if men like him really exist and if so where can they be found? Even better? Jon isn't the only dom in this series -- there are five of them. This story has a strong yoga/tantric/Buddhism element to it. This helped to demonstrate why Jon was so comfortable with who he is and how he lived his life. Rachel also respects and follows the same beliefs so it helped with the relationship development also. I will say that the author gets pretty technical when it comes to the various yoga positions, which became occasionally bothersome -- since I am not a follower of the belief I couldn't fully understand what was going on. I do however think that this belief increased the story and enhanced the BDSM element of the story. This BDSM story has an intense D/s element to it. So even when Rachel does not know or want to admit what she needs, Jon is there to show her. That is the reason I labeled this a forced seduction. This was not done in a malicious or hurtful way, just a men giving a woman what she needs. There is also a lot of petting and foreplay between various characters, but actual penetration is left for Rachel's master. Many of these encounters are almost more about reassurance than sex. This was a very sweet story that should touch anyone's soul. Sex and sexuality play a large role in this story, but it is always intimate, emotional and something that should be cherished. Even when more than one party is involved you can see the caring and love coming from all participants. It is a nice mixture that left every part of my body feeling warm and tingly. I have read stories that have left me envious of the relationship and love a couple share, but none as deeply as this story. Fabulous. Originally posted at Whipped Cream Reviews

My absolute favorite of all of Ms. Hill's books. The story of Rachel who recognizes her submissive nature, but was made to feel ashamed of them and Jon, a Dom and Knight of the Boardroom. Jon is unique in that he is an inventor, yoga master and certainly not the type of man that you think of when you start to read an BDSM novel. This book as with many of Ms. Hill's writtings explores the concepts of courage, hope, love and the willingness to fight for these.

If you've been following Knights of the Boardroom this story fits with the series. A touching story about someone realizing their own self worth - didn't enjoy as much as someo f the earlier titles in the series but still well worth the read! A 4 star review though it wouldn't let me rate it that

Rachel and Jon's story is much softer, sweeter and Zen compared to the other Knight's of the Boardroom stories thus far. Although Jon is very much into al the new age beliefs he is also and amazingly creative inventor. His inventions are specifically designed to bring woman maximum pleasure not only for herself but her Master as well. I really enjoyed Rachel's story and even though she had been devastated by the loss of a child, a marriage that ended badly she was able at long last to open her life and heart and beging to start anew.

I'VE BECOME A FAN OF JEOY HILL'S & THIS BOOK IS PART OF HER KNIGHTS OF THE BOARDROOM SERIES. I LOVE THE CHARACTERS, ESPECIALLY JON & THE REST OF THE K-B-R TEAM. THE BONDAGE SCENES ARE NOT FOR THE FAINT- HEARTED, BUT IT IS A GREAT BOOK.

This is not only about erotica at it's best, the depth of the story made it so beautiful to read that I will be thinking about the life lessons I took from this for a long time. How we view ourselves as women and how we measure our self worth in the love receive.
