    Thoroughly Enjoyable...

My first book was The Haunted House...I found it so enjoyably light and amusing that I decided to start at the beginning...and so I did!
"Meeting" Agatha for the first time, "The Quiche Of Death," was delightful enough to keep me reading on through the rest of her escapades and adventures. To date, I am beginning her 6th story, The Terrible Tourist'" and am looking forward to the following 16! I do hope Ms. Beaton continues on into Agatha's very golden years!

    AGATHA IS GREAT!!!!

All the M C Beaton books I have read have been good. I like the Agatha Raisin and the Hamish Macbeath series. In this one, Agatha is finally getting to marry James Lacey, or so she thinks. He first husband, Jimmy Raisin, shows up at the wedding. Agatha had thought he was dead. Later Agatha is seen pushing Jimmy into a ditch and Jimmy is found dead in the ditch. Agatha is arrested for murder. She is finally released and she and Lacey set out to find the real killer. The way they do it, their words and actions are very good. Seems most of the people they question end up being killed. They finally figure it out but Agatha nearly meets her doom in doing so. Will Agatha and James get married? Guess it will take at least another book to find out. Beaton writes so I can just see the people and the village in my mind. She is very good.

    Poor Agatha

She's at it again. She has finally persuaded James Lacey to marry her and her first husband that she hoped was dead turns up at the wedding and brings it all to a halt. Then he is discovered dead and she is the number one suspect.

    Light and Fun

Though murder is hardly a hilarious subject, MC Beaton keeps things lightly moving along in this tale of a serial killer in a tiny English village. The redoubtable amateur detective pair, Agatha Raisin and her on-again, off-again fiance James, once again get involved in a criminal investigation despite warnings from the police. The books in this series are always fun; this is no exception.

    Modern Agatha Christie Sleuth

This is the 1st book I've read in the Agatha Raisin series; it was suggested by one of the library staff workers. I just loved it.Agatha Raisin is very much a modern day business woman. She is quite 'outspoken' at times which sometimes gets her into a bit of trouble. She is like a younger Miss Marple, but a little more womanly so to speak and occassionly swears.A book definately worth reading!I did not want to give out any details in the book because it would ruin the thought process for the readers. I plan to read the other in this series myself this summer.
