Gideon Dixon was a good solider but bad at everything else. Now the British Army doesn't want him any more. So when he hears about the Valhalla Project it seems like a dream come true. They're recruiting from service personnel for execellent pay with no questions asked to take part in unspecified combat operations. The last thing Gideon expects is to finding himself fighting alongside the gods of the ancient Norse pantheon. If you favor the Norse Gods, you'll LOVE this!!

A literary tour de force it's not. The editing was poor, and there were several typos, which didn't help in the translation effort from British slang...But good, clean, pure fun, it's got in spades!!! Lovegrove keeps the pace fast, entertaining, and absolutely action-packed. Along the way, he provides some wonderfully humanistic insights into the complex psyches of the Norse Gods, as they decline toward the twilight of their existence, and face the impending climactic battle of Ragnarok. The Aesir and Vanir were always the most "human" of the ancient dieties, fraught with all the foibles that make us such an interesting species, only amplified to a divine scale.

This book does not disappoint. Well worth the time, which won't be long, because you won't be able to put it down!!

    Fantastic page turner!

I was at first confused about this book. Soon I found myself totally enthralled. The adventures of the Norse gods given life in a modern age. I found myself ABLE to see what was going on through Gid's eyes.

I loved the imagination put into this the story kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I recommend this bookbto anybody who lives for thinking outside the box.

    GOOD WORK!!

    Great read

Could have shown more of the norse gods being "godlike" with their abilities but a great story none-the-less. Definitely worth reading.

    Another creative adventure

I read lots of books but write few reviews, I did however want to bring this author to the attention of more readers. I picked up Age of RA a few years ago randomly looking for something else to read and really enjoyed the unique story. Age of Zeus later proved another good read and Age of Odin continues the original writing. Each book is separate & unrelated and each is very clever.

As long as Mr Lovegrove continues to write such fun, solid stories I will continue to be a fan.
