Overall Harris presents an excellent view on Agents of Chaos and how they affect civilization. He uses scientific evidence to back up his claims and makes it easier for the normal adult population to articulate what he is talking about. The many pictures and maps he uses further illustrate his point and the force of each disturbance. A couple negative things I did not like were that he expanded on some of his explanations a little too much. We would understand the main point, but then he would divulge into a wider explanation that seemed unneeded. While this might be acceptable to a scientific community, the average adult reader will not find this extra information useful. The other negative I found was his last section that focused on what early humans thought of the geological processes. This may seem interesting, but most readers either are aware that spiritual processes were the early human's main explanation, or they simply do not care. Either way, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to any adult reader who is looking to buff up their understanding of natural disasters and how and why they happen. Was this review helpful?
