About the Author

Dr. Dinesh Panday
Dr. Dinesh Panday is a Research Soil Scientist at Rodale Institute, Pennsylvania, USA. His research focuses on soil health, nutrient management, carbon and nitrogen cycling, regenerative agriculture, cropping systems, climate change, and greenhouse gas emissions. He earned a B.Sc. in Agriculture from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, an M.S. in Environmental Sciences from Lincoln University of Missouri, and a Ph.D. in Soil and Water Sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Panday has received numerous prestigious awards, serves as an editor for several scientific journals, and co-edited "The Soils of Nepal." In his free time, he enjoys music, travel, nature, and writing Op-Eds.

Dr. Prabhat Khanal
Dr. Prabhat Khanal is an Associate Professor of Sustainable Animal Nutrition at Nord University, Norway. He specializes in characterizing novel sources of feed and food, focusing on insect species, marine macroalgae, and freshwater macrophytes. Dr. Khanal holds a B.S. in Agriculture from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, an M.S. in Agriculture from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and a Ph.D. in Nutrition and Physiology from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He has published over 45 scientific articles and supervised numerous Post-doctoral fellows and Bachelor, Master and PhD students. He leads a number of projects within Nutrition, Physiology, and Sustainability, including a collaborative project on circular economy-based livesk sectors.

Dr. Bishnu Raj Upreti
Dr. Bishnu Raj Upreti is the Research Director of the Nepal Centre for Contemporary Research in Kathmandu. He has a background in social sciences with expertise in public policy, conflict management, and various security issues. Dr. Upreti has held numerous roles over his 54-year career, including development worker, government economist, research fellow, and conflict specialist. He has led global research projects and served on advisory boards. Dr. Upreti has published extensively and is frequently quoted in media on Nepal’s armed conflict.

Dr. Jagadish Timsina
Dr. Jagadish Timsina is a systems agronomist specializing in sustainable crop, soil, nutrient, water, and land management, integrated systems research, and crop and systems modelling. He has extensive research experience in diverse agro-ecologies across Australia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Dr. Timsina has worked with various prestigious institutions globally and currently holds advisory roles and honorary appointments with several organizations. He has published over 200 papers and book chapters, achieving an h-index of 54 and 11160 citation counts. Dr. Timsina serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Agricultural Systems.
