Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Barnes & Noble Review
Why choose Ajax Bible from the many excellent Ajax guides now available? Three words. 1. Comprehensive. It truly covers the waterfront. 2. Code. It's everywhere: useful, informative, and easy to adapt. 3. Holzner. Steven Holzner's taught more programming technologies to more people than just about anyone else on earth. The experience shows: in his explanations, examples, book organization, everywhere.

Holzner covers all of Ajax's core technologies, of course, from JavaScript, CSS, and DOM to XMLHttpRequest. But there's a great deal more, including topics most Ajax books don't touch. Ajax patterns, for one. Security, for another, from encrypting passwords to withstanding JavaScript and SQL injection attacks. There's even a thorough survey of emerging frameworks for extending Ajax, from Sajax and Swato to Ruby on Rails. Simply put, if it relates to Ajax and you might ever need to know it, odds are it's covered here -- and covered well. Bill Camarda, from the May 2007 Read Only
