Purpose: It is designed to provide a review of the essential material needed to pass the NCLEX-RN. Because the knowledge base in nursing is constantly growing, it is important that study aids are continually developed and revised to reflect current professional practice. The information in this tenth edition text is derived from recent professional publications in nursing and other health professions.
Audience: This text is written at an appropriate level for college degree nursing students, with little repetition of content. Although sections of this study guide are listed under four classifications, a variety of health situations are presented for all types of clients. The multiple authors are all active professionals currently involved in nursing education.
Features: Illustrations are effectively used to communicate important nursing concepts. Graphics also have a high quality appearance. Professional research articles are placed at the end of each section to illustrate the application of key concepts.
Assessment: This book offers a detailed summary of the information presented in undergraduate nursing education; it is an ideal resource for the review of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and nursing process in a wide range of situations.
