Overview

When Aubrey Night receives an invitation to a new were-fighting sports arena, her brother sends her along with a few guards to see what the fights are all about. In spite of the glitz and glamour surrounding the event, she doesn’t expect to find her truemate among the fighters.

Saber-toothed tiger shifter Alaric Carmichael has been having mating dreams for the last year. After sharing his mating dream details with the owner of an underground shifter fighting group, he swore an oath that he and his saber pride would fight for the owner until they’ve all found their mates. As he fights every night, he begins to think it’s a lost cause, until one night when he scents his mate in the crowd.

Now, Alaric has a new purpose in life: making his mate deliriously happy. It’s a good thing she likes the way he purrs. Contains m/f interaction, a rare shifter, and the human who makes him purr.

Meet the Author

A Midwesterner by birth, R.E. spent much of her childhood rewriting her favorite books to include herself as the main character. Later, she graduated on to writing her own books after "retiring" from her day job as a secretary to become a stay-at-home mom. When not playing with her kids, wrestling her dogs out the door, or cooking dinner for her family, you'll find her typing furiously and growling obscenities to the characters on the screen. Her best-selling series The Wolf's Mate, Wiccan-Were-Bear, The Necklace Chronicles, Hyena Heat, Wilde Creek, and Ashland Pride are available now.

This could have been a very good read and I would have given it 5 stars......but was way to short and rushed. The 43 pages were very good but as I said it was rushed and really no character...this definately needed to be expanded and storyline needed to be filled out more......come on authors take a little more time and let us fall in love with the stories! And just for the record I hate seriels. I love it when the stories are continued into more books but I also want each book to have its own happy ending, before being the side characters in the next book in the series.

Less than 44 pages. Started out good but then extremely rushed. Lots of loose ends. Ended so fast and hard it was like crashing into a brick wall. I don't know if this is a serial. I hate those a will NOT buy them. I definitely felt cheated with this story. The characters and I deserved better.

Short but sweet. Hope the next one is longer!

This is the first book in R.E.'s new series Saber Chronicles. This is NOT a serial but a series. They are intended to be short stories with very little angst, a bit of spice and a HEA. It's a terrific combination for a busy schedule. Ms. Butler's writing style always leaves me wanting more. It's a good thing that there are more books in the series. Alaric is the leader of his small family. He always puts them first but Aubrey has him rearranging his priorities. I liked his dedication and loyalty. Aubrey is not pushover and she knows her own mind. No second guessing herself. It made me like her all the more that she has no second thought about taking on Alaric's family as her own. Adult read

Overall Rating: 4 Rockin’ ★★★★ Sabers are a dying breed. All sabers are extinct, all but one family. The saber-toothed tiger is the last and there are only four of them left. In Alaric’s Perfect Mate we are introduced into the world of last saber-toothed tiger shifters. Author R. E. Butler weaves an unforgettable tale around the search of one of these tigers for his true mate. In the shifter world a mate is recognized immediately with just one sniff. Alaric is preparing with his family for his fight when he gets a whiff of the one he has been searching for, his true mate. He has been dreaming of her and the closer they get to each other the more intense the dreams become for him. What he had not expected was the human female that is his! Will she be able to accept him and his shifter world? Representing her brother the Vampire Lord at a were-fight, Aubrey did not know what to think when she heard an earth shattering ROAR! The roar she heard at once pulled her to find the source of it and latch onto it. When she is introduced to Alaric, she knows he belongs to her and her to him. It does not matter that she is the pampered princess of the paranormal world that her brother oversees. Even as a human she recognizes who Alaric is. This author’s unique perspective of the paranormal world will engage the reader until the end. The characters support the storyline and contribute to the flow beautifully. If you are looking for an unusual paranormal romance with a happily ever after, look no more this book is it! I cannot wait to read the next in the series.

Okay for 99 cents, but not a penny more. Barely enough plot to push the story forward. I like some humor with my were-stories, not just angst and growls and clothes flying off. R.E., take a page from Celia Kyle/Mina Carter.

What a rip off even for .99. 44 pages with 37 pages of story. Silly story too. Will not be buying anything more by this author.
