Kern County Family Magazine
The Algebra Survival Guide is fun to handle and stunning to read. It is a friendly book that de-mystifies algebra, and - believe it or not - even makes it fun.
Crusader News
A perfect tool for those who are lost in 'Algebra Land'. I would recommend the Survival Guide not just for your children who are studying algebra, but also for those parents who will be teaching it shortly.
Mathematics Teacher
The Algebra Survival Guide is a non-threatening algebra tutorial guide. The question and answer format is great!

    This book saved my life!

I was taking an accelerated Algebra class that I had to pass in order to advance in nursing school. Well the Algebra book provided by the college was way too much, but with the lessons in this book I passed and even got an A. This book broke it down step by step with all the rules you need to do Algebra. I looked at several other Algebra tutorial books but this one was educational while being entertaining. I even shared this book with othere students, even though several of them also purchased books about algebra, this one proved to be a winner in explaining all that you need!!! I will be hanging on to this book even though my algebra class is done!!!

    Excellent!

Just started our Algebra Unit, this book makes everything clear to me! It uses words that actually make sense and have problems you could use in the real world! Would HIGHLY recommend to someone having trouble or just starting.

An excellent source for learning Algebra 1

I am a teacher who recently changed my state of residence and was faced with having to take the Praxis Mathematics Test for certification in my area. There is a good bit of algebra on the test and I have never been a pro at algebra or understood it especially the word problems. The Algebra Survival Guide is the first book I have found that gives such a complete and sequential explaination of all concepts of Algebra 1. It is like having a tutor sitting beside you because of the way the book is written with the question and answer format. The author also uses menonics to help remember algebra steps in sequence. I am using the guide as a self-teaching tool but as a teacher I believe any student struggling with Algebra concepts would greatly benefit from the Algebra Survival Guide and workbook as a resource to supplement classroom instruction and their text book.

    Great Guide for the Lost

I'm one of those students who never 'got' Algebra in highschool. As a returning student (after nearly 20 years), this book was a great help to me. Since I never really learned this stuff, books that stressed 'refresher' have not been much help to me. I needed something that really explained key terms and steps. This book did that. I look forward to the sequel.
