Alexandre Dumas (also called Alexandre Dumas) was a French writer born July 24, 1802 at Villers-Cotterets (Aisne) and died December 5, 1870 at Puys, near Dieppe (Seine-Maritime). He is the son of Thomas Alexandre Davy de la Pailleterie, said General Dumas, and the father of the writer Alexandre Dumas (1824-1895) said Dumas son, especially author of The Lady of the Camellias. Near the romantic and turned to theater, Alexandre Dumas first wrote blockbuster comedies and historical dramas like Henry III and his court (1829), The Tower of Nesle (1832), Kean (1836). A prolific author, he then turned to historical novels such as trilogy The Three Musketeers (1844), Twenty Years After (1845) and The Vicomte de Bragelonne (1847), or The Count of Monte Cristo (1844 -1846 ) and Queen Margot (1845). The paternity of some of his works is disputed him. Dumas was thus suspected by many critics of his day to have used in literary blacks, including Auguste Maquet. However contemporary research showed that Dumas had established effective cooperation with it: Dumas took care to choose the general topic and amended drafts of Maquet to make them more dynamic.
