This soundtrack goes hand and hand with the movie, done beautifully. The music is done so well that it's a wonderful transformation into the film without even viewing the movie. The score is done so well that the music sets a mile high enhancer to the movie creating a mystery wonderland, which you are seeking to know more about by just listening to the wonderful land of Alice. Being immerged into this other land the music sets the tone to make you mesmerized by the dark, topsy turvy, stunning choirs and poppy orchestra. It's a wonderful Alice soundtrack, best in my books. This soundtrack is brilliantly done and designs a light with a twist of dark displaying flawless music sounds. Danny Elfman composed this music very well as you want more Alice! I am a new fan of the composer Danny Elfman.

Danny Elfman's brilliant soundtrack for Alice in Wonderland is presented on this CD like a continuous piece of classical music and plays like one of the great works of "program music" of the romantic era, like a symphonic poem by R. Strauss or a Tchaicovsky ballet, for example. The use of the chorus, which was so effective in the viewing experience, is even more powerful in this purely aural telling of the tale. I have enjoyed listening to this music with my children, both familiar with the story if not the film, and having them imagine what is happening as the music plays, "She's falling down the rabbit hole!" "She's shrinking." "She's fighting the Jabberwork!" A very pleasurable listening experience and a great way of introducing young children to symphonic music. Highly recommended.

This soundtrack did not disappoint. It was a bit repetitive in the theme songs, but it is a movie soundtrack which follow the theme of the movie.

Besides Steven Spielberg and John Williams, few director/composers have yielded as many memorable moments as have Tim Burton and Danny Elfman. With styles that dutifully complement each other's noted eccentricities, the pair rarely (when patrolling the magical fault line where music and visuals meet) disappoint. Such is the case with 2010's Alice in Wonderland, a world in which the two were seemingly destined to one day inhabit. Pieces like "'Proposal/Down the Hole,'" "'Only a Dream,'" "'Blood of the Jabberwocky,'" and "'Alice Returns'" calmly evoke the pastoral English countryside, but the majority of Elfman's work here treats the fable as a Wagnerian epic. ...
