There is really not a plot to this book. It is just sex, if that is what you want, this book is for you. The leading men are wolves but never shift after the first 10 pages. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Alice’s Alpha is a captivating and ravishing story that is overflowing with passion, seduction, eroticism, arousal, romance, love, and raw unbridled lust. Alice is smart, sexy, independent, stubborn, and fierce to her core. She has pretty much given up on ever finding love when she encounters Jed and his clan of wolf shifters.
Jed is the Alpha of the Wolf Clan and devastatingly handsome, dominant, honorable, and proud. When he meets Alice his primitive urges rise up and demand that he claim her. Faster than she can blink she finds herself in a full blown, erotic relationship with this delectable Alpha.
Then Alice is thrown for a loop. Enter Jed’s pack brothers. Being mated to Jed was overwhelming enough, finding out that she is mated to all of them is in a whole other realm of thinking. She cannot seem to wrap her head or her heart around the idea. Lucky for her these men are eager to show her what a life with them will be like, in and out of the bedroom.
I am an Ann Gimpel fan to the core and this story has been my favorite by far! The pure level of sensuality was enough to curl my toes and go in search for a glass, then a bottle of wine! For erotic romance and paranormal romance lovers out there, you will not be disappointed! You will devour this book in one night and then curse because you really, really, REALLY want book 2!
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Alice's Alpha is a super steamy book from page one that puts an intriguing and sexy spin on the standard shifter myths. Because of this unique view this story ends up being an unforgettable read that you find yourself completely immersed in and the ideas it presents point towards an enticing future for this series.
Alice is a 33 year old virgin who doesn't have much luck with men as she's made of sturdy stock more inclined to compete with the boys than get close to them. Her feelings change dramatically once she's found in the forest by wolf-shifter Jed. Her hormones kick into overdrive and all she wants to do is jump his bones but there are secrets she must learn before she makes such a life-altering decision. Alice seems like a strong-willed woman but becomes a slave to her hormones easily accepting what Jed tells her about his kind with nary a pause. She's intrigued by the physical changes their mating will bring her though she balks for a brief moment learning that mating with Jed means also being with his pack-mates, Terin and Bron. Alice easily accepts all these men have to offer and as she had no close friends or family before, it's heartwarming to see that she's finally found a family of her own.
Shifters have been hunted in great numbers and where they were once thought of as gods they are now reviled. For their safety they rarely run in their animal forms which has slowly weakened their abilities and made it difficult to find their mates. The mate bond is immediate and shockingly strong and while Jed wants Alice immediately he's bound by their laws to give her a choice. That's not to say he doesn't use every sexual trick in the book to win her over. He's a strong, sexy, and wise Alpha desperate to keep their kind safe. He'll do anything to keep Alice safe and happy and with the help of his pack-mates she'll be immensely satisfied too in a series of HOT interludes that lead to a satisfying HEA.
Not much is known about Terin and Bron beyond their sexiness and loyalty. They're immediately attracted to Alice and easily accept their secondary roles in their mating with Alice. Both together and apart these sexy shifters engage in numerous sweat-inducing sexual encounters that take up a large portion of the story. This doesn't leave much room for character development beyond the main couple or the danger hinted at by the presence of a Hunter, who happens to be Alice's friend. This part of the story, and the Hunter's overall impact towards shifters, intrigued me and has me longing to see this issue addressed more than the hastily thrown together conclusion presented here. Overall, this is a decadently delightful story full of steamy foreplay and super sexually charged menages that will leave you breathless.

I liked how Alice’s Alpha was set in 1936, but that also kept my mind vary of could this happen, could that and not being 1930’s expert it did distract me a little. But, very little! Because the story is interesting, we get some back story while the wolf and bear reminisce, and we also get to know Jed and Alice separately very well before they are but together. I was expecting something with the whole Lon Chaney story line but he’s got nothing to do with the book, and I’m not even sure why he’s in the blurb, to be honest?
The romance is hot of course, it starts with you getting a hint just hard it’s been on the boys to be mateless all these years, and then enter Alice whose sent drives Jed mad, though he hides it pretty well for the first few minutes. ;) Then its toe sucking and our heroine’s a goner. ;) Of course Jed and Alice had the main romance but eventually the other two wolves return to the cabin and all hell breaks loose, Alice wants nothing to do with any of them – and that creates great conflict! And that’s not all of it, in Ann Gimble’s world humans are taught to believe all shifters are evil, kidnap babies and eat them kind of way - so Alice isn't exactly raving happy when the trio’s species comes up.
Alice’s Alpha is a great short story of wolf shifters, a tough cookie heroine, the irresistible mate bond and 1930’s - and it’s an awesome read, even with the little snags on the road.
