    NPR Favorite...Love the recipes!!

This is from the producer of NPR's All Things Considered. The recipes are wonderful and I'm trying my first one this evening after receiving this as a birthday gift. I can't wait to try the rest and extremely entertaining stories with each recipe! You will love this book if you love to bake cakes! (And eat them too!!!)

    Suzie Housley, Midwest Book Review

Melissa Gray has proven she is the Queen of cake making. In her book All Cakes Considered she has collected fifty recipes that have been taste tested by her coworkers and are easy to understand; each one produce award winning results.

Being baking challenged; I was delighted to have discovered this book. It is filled with recipes that are absolutely delicious. Some of my favorites included:

    Triple Chocolate Orange Passion Cake
    Black Walnut Cake
    Spanish Meringue Cake
    Tunnel of Fudge Cake

With the in-depth introduction on caking baking and what was needed to master each recipe it allowed me to learn the basics I needed to produce the textbook perfect results.

All Cakes Considered would make a wonderful addition to any baker's cookbook collection. It would be the ideal gift for a newlywed or someone who is a novice to baking. This book is assured to become one of your most treasured cookbooks.

This Is a Cake Cook Book That You Need To Own!

I have a self confessed sweet tooth that is most partial to cakes - rather than just sweets -candy or cookies do not hold as much appeal for me as does an ohlalala cake! Maybe I shared some cake with Marie Antoinette in a past life?! Well at any rate this is one of those cake cookbooks that you absolutely must not miss out on owning. Hurry to you local book store - or if you are isolated as I am - to your favorite on line book purveyor - and order this one up! you will not be disappointed.

This book came about as producer Melissa Gray wends her way through a year full of cakes that pleased her fellow NPR work mates. I think that this book is notable in it's appeal not just to the seasoned cake baker but to the budding cake aesthete as Ms. Gray shares cake secrets that she has learned along the way. Interesting anecdotes, recipes culled from lots of places & many people. This book is exceptional and won't fail to please those of us that adore cake in all of it's sublime shapes & sizes (and who may try to hide that extra 'sliver' we ferret out the door without anyone noticing!)

Little piece of our childhood wisdom with a slice of absolute joy.

This is a great cookbook to have in your cabinet, dowry, office kitchen....etc.
The writer takes you on a great journey of clear understanding . You not only end up with a fabulously popular dessert to share but with more commonsense about how to bake and what to use to get the best results. This is an accomplished lady with great skills! Worth your time and money! She will expand your baking brain!!!!!
