A Great Book About Asperger's Syndrome

I'm a 15-year-old girl with Asperger's Syndrome and this book is very outstanding. It's a book that's not just for adults to understand about children with Asperger's Syndrome, but it's also a book for kids with Asperger's Syndrome that they can relate to and understand why they are so different from other people. I loved this book. I think it would be nice if other people read this book so they can understand about Asperger's Syndrome

Wonderful book to have in the classroom.

I purchased this book to share with my 8 year old son's class. (My son was not present when it was read.) I wanted them to have a better understanding of why Noah is Noah and that the behavoirs and personality he has are because of Asperger's Syndrome. They were instantly interested in learning about Asperger's Syndrome. The book has great pictures that went perfectly with the captions on the page. There were sooo many pictures that reminded the children and especially myself, of Noah and positions he may take during the day. The children asked many questions and have responded well, especially in trying to include Noah more in playing and encouraging him to join in with them. A great, great book to help children without AS to understand those that do....A wonderful way to look at the Asperger child through pictures of cats with captions.....

    A book for all families

I am not going to fall into some arcane blather about how it hits on all the varied and confounding presentations of Aspergers, rather, I will just say: "GREAT!" A book that will give persons working or living with children and others with this disorder a quick yet clear insight into this, well, way of life. Confounding on both sides this little picture book goes a long way in giving all parties an understanding that will go far in promoting simple interaction while helping dissolve preconceptions and misinterpretations.
Many of the modern attempts to understand the autism spectrum have begun to present the idea that we all have a bit of these qualities to one extent or other. If you do not see reflected a bit of self I would suggest a deeper look and not a pat of self congratulations on great solidity with purported normality.(I Go off to repetitive tasks with a broad smile)

Very helpful to educate about Asperger's syndrome

This book uses pictures of cats, straightfoward language, and wonderful humor to explain some of the quirky aspects of being a child with Asperger's Syndrome. It helped my daughter tremendously as we started to teach her about her diagnosis while still emphasizing her strengths and talents.

    Great Book

My son is 13,has Asperger Syndrome and loves cats. He really was able to identify with this book. I also think it would be great for relatives of people with Aspergers so they can understand.

You will read it more than once !

***** An awesome book for children (and adults) of all ages. I bought the copy as a gift to my God child who does have aspergers. I shared it first with her grandmother and asked her to write on each page how the book related to the child.

I got this for my son who loves cats and has mild Asperger Syndrome. He appreciated the comparisons and got a pretty big laugh out of them!

    great for teaching

I bought this book for my sister to help her explain all about autism and aspergers to her students during autism awareness month. I decided to read it before giving it to her. I then decided to buy a copy of it for myself. I believe this book will help me to explain to my son all about himself to him. I also belive that it will help his cousins to understand more about my son.

    Asperger's teaching tool

This book was wonderful for teaching siblings, classmates, Aunts, and grandparents how our son is not so very different as he sometimes seems. My mom went out and bought one for herself to help her explain her grandson to others. Our son really liked it, too, and commented on several cats that were "just like me".

Great for Asperger's Children and their Friends and Parents and Peers

The metaphor is very cute, but almost unnecessary, as important lessons sre taught and developed, in amanner that is both understandable and memorable. Well done, and worth referring to!

Required reading for anyone with someone in their life with Asperger.

This book says it all so well. It is excellent for children who have Asperger to help them understand themselves. And strongly recommended for teachers with a special child in their classroom; should be shared with the classmates. This is the third copy I've purchased and shared.

A self esteem boost for children with Asbergers

A counselor showed this book to us and I had to buy it. It's motivational, yet shows the way an Asberger child really is. And it's all shown with pictures of kittens.
