    Halloweens a Scream!

Richard Laymon is by far one of the best Horror/Fiction writers out there. His books run you scared and leave you asking for more. With deranged characters, and obnoxious victims he brings his fans into a gory, berserk world.
'Allhallows's Eve' reminds me of a young adult book called 'The Surprise Party' by R.L Stine. But of course Laymon takes it about 5 steps further with his insinuation of rape and mayhem. This one is a bit different from his other books, but in a way that will make you be terrified of Halloween.
I believe if you are a big horror and/or Laymon fan, you should spend the few extra bucks for this novel. Its def. worth reading!

    Another good Laymon book!

This book was quite different from what I expected. The basic synopsis on the back cover reads that there's an abandoned house that is supposed to be haunted (where a family had been brutally murdered). Mysteriously, people in the town start receiving anonymous invitations to attend a party that will be held at the "haunted house" on Halloween. Knowing this from the back cover, I expected to read a scary story that had ghosts tormenting the town. Unfortunately, this was not what happened. There is certainly someone or something evil lurking inside the house...and you will need to read the book to find out more! Although the book does not zip along at the lightning speed which is typical of Laymon's books, it was an entertaining read. I finished it very quickly and was not disappointed. The ending was a bit abrupt and certains details were left undone. However, if you like Laymon's books in general, you will probably like this book also.
