Unwanted as a child he was ended up with the Preston's when he was twelve. After years of being unwanted he did what he could to push them away but they had staying power. Now at almost thirty, Kyle is glad they did. He straightened out and even became wealthy. While playing Santa at the Mall he owns, a young girl comes and says all she wants for Christmas is a daddy. For some reason Kyle feels the need to protect this young girl and her lovely mother. Lauren Alexander loves her daughter, Kristen. As a teen Lauren made one mistake that cost her the love of her family but she has her daughter and would not trade her for anything. Kyle helps her when her car don't start after leaving the mall and the next night he finds her at the tree lighting ceremony and has her invited to his parents for dinner the next night before she knows what hit her. The man is good looking and kind but she has learned from Jimmy and her own father, men don't stay around. Kyle has to prove he is different than the men in Lauren's life who have hurt her, and if nothing else he loves a challenge. He has built a big home and now he knows he wants Lauren and Kristen to be part of his family and to live there with him. This story has more to it than the rich Santa Claus meets struggling single mother. Kyle has a past he overcame and Lauren had a past she still needs to deal with. **Sexual situations.

All I Want For Christmas is You is a heartwarming Christmas story that will put you in the mood for the holiday season. I love reading Christmas stories during the holiday season (although I read this one early.) I'm going to put it on my annual list of Christmas books that I love to reread during the holidays.

This is truly a sweet Christmas story that will surely touch and melt your heart. This story shows the true meaning of the Christmas spirit. Here are my thoughts: Lauren Alexander just wants to get her Christmas shopping down so that she can go home. Lauren's six year old daughter Kristen has yet to give her letter to Santa or sit on his lap. Kristen's fondest Christmas Wish is to have a father which absolutely breaks the heart of the gentleman playing Santa~Kyle Preston. Kyle would love to give this little girl her Christmas Wish more than anything. Lauren tries to start her car only to realize that her battery is dead. Kyle Preston sees a lady in trouble and decides to help out. Little did he or Lauren know that both of their worlds are about to be turned upside down. Lauren doesn't feel she has time for a relationship because all her time is taken up by Kristen. She doesn't trust people very much and wonders at their motives. Kyle wonders what he has to do for Lauren to see he's not like other people in her life. Will Lauren let Kyle into her heart? Can Kyle get past all of Lauren's defenses? Will Kristen get her Christmas Wish? Your answers await you in All I Want for Christmas is You.

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. All I Want for Christmas Is You is a sweet feel good holiday-themed romance that has all the qualities of a Hallmark movie where two likable people who have been burned by love before come together because of a precocious child's holiday wish. From the moment that wish is made Kyle Preston moves mountains to see that that wish comes true as Lauren fights his unending charm every step of the way in their slightly rocky road to their HEA.
From the moment Lauren decided to keep her baby her life of privilege came crashing down. She's been on her own since then with no contact from her family and her mistrust of men has kept her life revolving around work and her daughter. I admire Lauren for the choices she's made and for making it on her own and while I can understand her fear of what Kyle offers those fears became overblown at times. There's nothing wrong with accepting help but she made it seem like it was a weakness and it just became a silly and stereotypical roadblock to their happiness.
Kyle is the perfect hero, almost too perfect at times. He's sexy, rich and caring and is ready-made for a wife. He's great with kids and honorable and is charming enough to make their two sexual interludes sweetly satisfying. He's had issues in his past, but unlike Lauren, he's moved past the hurts to grab for this chance at happiness. His scenes with Kristen make him even more endearing and likable.
The secondary characters and the warmth of their familial love enhance the book's holiday theme and present possibilities for any future books. I normally find the addition of children to a story to be distracting with unbelievable adult speech and actions but I found Kristen delightful. Her awe of this magical holiday and sudden infusion of family made for some very sweet and tender moments. The conclusion of the story wrapped the book up with a bow that resolved every issue and made the ending almost too good to be true. Those wanting a sweetly endearing story to put a smile on your face will find exactly that in this magical Christmas tale.

Kyle Preston brought joy to numerous kids' lives during the Christmas season. He loved the job of Santa but he definitely wasn't prepared for a precocious little girl to ask him for a daddy and a present for her mother in the form of a husband to help around the house. Yet luck had it's way when Kristen's mom forgot to turn off the headlights before going Christmas shopping. And who better to come to the rescue? Why Santa, of course. Kristen's mom, Lauren Alexander, was a single parent who had survived years on her own caring for the two of them without the help of her parents. Although she wanted contact, it was out of the question. So when a man decided he wanted to make them a part of his life, Lauren did the only thing acceptable. She pushed him away. Would she see reason when her parents enter the picture? Or will their relationship be totally destroyed? Christmas is a special time of year. One of renewing old friendships and finding some new. Ms. Mondello has created a moving tale destined to brighten the Christmas spirit in everyone who reads All I Want For Christmas Is You.

When she waddled across the stage to receive her diploma, Lauren Alexander's family was mortified by her pregnancy. Arranging for an adoption, her family hopes Lauren can attend college and survive the family scandal. However, the young mother could not bring herself to sign those adoption papers and leaves town with only her savings and her daughter cradled in her arms. Now Kristen is six, and Lauren struggles to provide all the things her daughter needs. Unfortunately, there's not much left for things like Christmas. Kyle Preston remembers standing in court at the age of twelve when his father gave him to the state. Foster homes didn't seem to want the boy as much as the check, until his adoptive parents gave him the love he needed. Now Kyle is an affluent real estate developer playing Santa Claus in his own mall. When little Kristen gives him her letter, his heart can't help being touched. Rather than doll houses or easy-bake ovens, little Kristen only wants a daddy to help her momma. With Christmas three weeks away, Kyle finds himself sidestepping the promise. But Christmas is the time of magic, touching hearts and bringing them together. Perhaps a dead battery can be a blessing if two hearts can be led to find one another. And author Lisa Mondello certainly knows how to bring magic together with love. ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS proves a charming novel whether the time be Christmas or summer. With warm characters, an enchanting child, and house full of wonderful secondary characters, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS comes highly recommended.
