Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Candace Deisley
This is an entry in the "Physical Science" series, which is written for first grade readers. The well thought out prose starts with the fact that the earth revolves around the sun. The next concept introduces is the revolution of our planet, followed by the entry about wind, and hot air balloons are explained. Water is the next topic. Finally electricity is illustrated with escalators and bumper cars! The beautiful photography in this series is very appropriate for the audience. The final chapter is a science project: making a pinwheel. A well-constructed book, this has a table of contents, glossary, and suggestions for further reading, including a website.
