My 24-year-old daughter has made a bad marriage, and I'd do anything to help her. But she lives far away, and communication over the phone is tough, particularly when she's crying her heart out. Since she loves to read, I went searching for just the right book to help her get her head screwed on straight and take action to build the happy life that she deserves. At first glance I passed on this book--the title turned me off. Then I thumbed through it and read some excerpts. After buying it and starting to read it, I couldn't put it down. All I kept thinking as I read was, 'Yes, you're right, how true!' How I wish I had read this book when I was in college!!! How many bad relationships, and how much pain, I would have been spared had I heeded the lessons in this book. I've come to learn all about jerky men the hard way but now I can pass my hard-knock knowledge to my daughters in written word, and avoid becoming a preachy mom. My one criticism--the author gives short shrift to abusive relationships (one page--get out now)and I wish she had spent a chapter on recognizing and dealing with non-physical abuse. Notwithstanding, this book's a GEM--a 'must read'. I'm buying another copy for my daughter in high school!

This book was sooooo educational... I definitely look at the way I approach a man and enter a relationship much differently!
