New Adult Romance - recommended for readers 18+ yrs due to sex & language

An ex is an ex for a reason

To Rebecca Winters, it's not just a saying or the title to a catchy tune, it's a rule she staunchly lives by. Especially since the break up with her ex. What's the point in trying to fix the "unfixable"? Besides, only a girl hell-bent on more heartbreak would go back to the guy who bailed on her when she needed him most. But saying no to Scott is becoming more difficult than surviving the breakup itself. And unfortunately for her, the kind of pressure he's exerting is making her rule all too easy to break.

Scott Carver has given up trying to get over his ex. He's still in love with her and their year apart has done nothing to change that. Yeah, he knows he screwed up. Just how royally, he wasn't aware of until now. So when Becca agrees to give him a second chance, he grabs on to it with both hands. But it's clear the only way things will ever truly be right between them is if he comes clean...about everything. He can only pray the truth doesn't send her running--for good this time.

I read this book in 2 days. I couldn't put it down. It was an easy read with developed characters. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a light read.

This one is about Becca and Scott. We finally get to read on how their relationship in the past went wrong and why Becca feels she has the right to hate him. Scott wants her back but doesn't want to tell her his past. Which I think it wasn't that bad. The stuff I was coming up with was completely way worse and humorous. Man when they got together, their chemistry *clears throat* was smoking. Can't wait until the next book with April and Troy!

I read this book in 2 nights and couldn't put it down. I really like how Scott pursued Rebecca and was willing to put his feeling out there on the line. Rebecca fought her feelings but her heart won in the end. Also the makeup was hot! Natalie766

As a cross genre romance reader (historical, contemporary, paranormal), it is rare that an author can write more than one genre well - but she he pulls it off. I would not call this title her best work (more like 4 star), but I gave 5 stars in a nod to her overall work.

I thoroughly enjoyed Becca and Scott's story. It was witty, fun and sexy as hell. Just a word of caution...you may need a couple cold showers while reading this book. Its that hot without being trashy. Will most certainly follow the series.

I don't recommend this book. It was a little too sleazy (graphic) for my taste. Wasn't well written either. I'm not going to choose this author again.

I had not read the previous book in this series when I picked up this book to read. For me it could standalone as I felt the author covered all bases with just the right amount of character history to dispel the need to read the first book beforehand. It was a good story based on who dares wins if they put themselves out there for a second slice at a relationship with an ex. Of course not, all break-ups deserve a second chance but the author managed to convince me that Scott deserved to win his time over with Rebecca. There was a perfect balance of will they wont they throughout the book without the case of dragging the story on too long. Enjoyable read, and I will read more of Beverley Kendall in the future. *Arc kindly provided by the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review*

Cute romance story. I would have given it additional stars if she could have dispensed with the profane language. I do believe one could attract a younger reader without using that kinda language. All in all; not a bad book.
