Out of control - that's how Lacey Duval feels in almost every aspect of her life. There's nothing she can do about her parents divorce, there's nothing she can do about the death of her young friend, there's nothing she can do about having diabetes - that's what Lacey believes.
After a special summer at Jenny House, Lacey is determined to put her problems behind her. When she returns to high school, she is driven to become a part of the in crowd and win the attention of gorgeous Todd Larson. But Lacey thinks fitting in means losing weight and hiding her diabetes. She starts skipping means and experimenting with her medication - sometimes ignoring it all together.
Her friends from the summer caution her to face her problems before catastrophe strikes. Is it too late to stop the destructive process Lacey has set in motion?

This link does not work - don't waste your money

Very disappointed by this nook book. I actually deleted it and purchased again because I assumed I had done something wrong in the downloading process. What a waste of $11!! Never had this problem before. Better luck with a different title.

I Liked the Other Ones Better

The other books like Reach for Tomorrow were alot better than this one, but this one was needed for the next one to take place. It had information about the characters that you needed to know.

    Great Book!!

This was an exciting book about a young girls responsibility in her own life. When I started to read this book I could not put it down. I just loved to read how a teenager would handle such a hard thing in her life. I cannot wait to start another.

Anyone Who Can Read, Has Gotta Read This Book!!!!!!

Every single girl should read this book. It shows you what could happen to you if you're anorexic. Even if Lacey Duval didn't have diabetes she still could've come close to dying, but if you're not anorexic or have a disease you should read this book. Lurlene McDaniel has done her best again!

This was the sadest book ever!!!

this was an amazing...but sad book. I really enjoyed reading it and i think everyone should have a chance to read it. It teaches you alot about Lacey and her diabetes and how you don't have to impress yourself infront of other people to look good. Just be yourself!

Is it too late for Lacey?

Is Todd Larson worth Lacey's life? Lacey won't let on to anybody at school that she has diabetes. To win over Todd she begins to tamper with insulin dosages and begins to purge in order to lose weight. Someone from the previous summer comes back into Lacey's life and changes everything. Will she change her habits? If you've had an eating diorder like me, you are sure to find comfort in this book.

    It is touching!

In this book the character is Lacey Duval. This book to me really seems like its all about her disease and alot of problems that she gets into for not making the correct desicions. Theres is a guy that she meets at Jenny's Special Summer party and she has a great time there. But then time changes and She remembers everything that happens. Lacey was diagnosed with 'Diabetes'and she doesn't want to tell nobody because she is scared that her friends will make fun of her. Later on everybody finds out. So then everything changes, In a good way!
