All Music Guide - Cub Koda
Steppenwolf were a band that straddled the fence between jamming hard and maintaining catchy AM radio hits, and for a while they pulled it off effortlessly. Here's their story in a nutshell: all the big hits that have kept the group a staple on oldies and classic-rock radio stations for years. "Born to Be Wild," "Magic Carpet Ride," "Rock Me," and "The Pusher" are all here, along with lesser-charting singles and tracks from later albums.

    Pretty nice album

This is only my opinion, but I was just a tad dissapointed in Steppenwolf. They are great if you are to consider them a hard rock/psychedelic band, but I myself prefer pure psychedelic bands, like The Beatles or Pink Floyd. However, I do appreciate many of these tracks, especially "Born to Be Wild, Magic Carpet Ride" and "Hey Lawdy Mamma."
