All Together Now: Teens Sing the Beatles

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Beth Amos
Few songs have the resonant appeal of those in the Beatles catalogue, and this disc promises to create a whole new generation of Fab Four fans with its lively, youthful renditions. Drawing on a mix of contemporary and classic arrangements, the songs on All Together Now are sung by a group of unknown but highly talented young teens who reenergize these timeless classics. "Help!" (sung by Natasha Noack) and "We Can Work It Out" (Ben Byler) receive a hip-hop makeover, while "I'm Happy Just to Dance with You" (Jennifer D'Amico) features a sultry sax and a snazzy syncopated rhythm. Zippy guitar riffs and Michael Jones's energetic vocals add new pizzazz to "She Came in Through ...

Zippy guitar riffs and Michael Jones's energetic vocals add new pizzazz to "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window"; Bailey Driver bends a little gender in a role-reversed rendition of "I Saw Him Standing There"; and pop rock fans will love the Britney-inspired female vocalists on "You Won't See Me" (Ashlyne Huff), "From Me to You" (Sarah Valley), and "Ob La Di, Ob La Da" (Kristen Voorhies). Sticking closer to the original arrangements are versions of "Can't Buy Me Love" (Brandon Stansell), "All You Need Is Love" (Pratik Dash), and "Ticket to Ride" (Andy Karg). This is a perfect family album, offering parents an enjoyable trip down memory lane and introducing their kids to the wonderful world of the Beatles.
