Bonus: Exclusive to this edition—a never-before-in-print Green Mountain story

The family-run Green Mountain Country Store is cherished by locals as a reminder of simpler times. The Abbott children are determined to keep it that way—but their father has different plans…

When Cameron Murphy heads to Vermont to build a website for a new client, she imagines a more relaxing trip than she gets. After wrecking her car by colliding with the town moose, she meets the most handsome hero she’s ever seen. Unfortunately, her savior, Will Abbott, is also the son of her client—and he wants nothing to do with the new website or the city girl creating it.

For all Will cares, Cameron can march her fancy boots right out of town and out of his family’s business. But he can’t seem to get her out of his head. As his family’s dispute heats up, so does the chemistry between the two, leaving them wondering if simple is better after all—especially when it comes to matters of the heart.

Thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this new series! The Abbott's are as entertaining as the McCarthy's and I can not wait until June for the next book to come out. Love all of Marie's books.

Marie's books are an addiction! It's the kind of addiction that doesn't let you go to sleep until you finish the next chapter and the next, etc. The kind of addiction that makes you tell all your friends your skipping the lunchroom at work today because you're meeting a friend, when in actually you want to spend your lunch hour hiding in your car so you can read your book. It's the kind of addiction, that even if you are on a strict budget, you will allow yourself this one indulgence! Marie's books are magic and make you believe in all that's good! They are fun and sexy and take your breath away. They are about love; love for your mate, love for your family, love for your friends, love for the place where you were born and that things that shaped you! I cannot say enough good things about Marie and her books! I have read them all and can say without hesitation that if were to invest in a writer, she would be the one! I hope you will buy this book, read this book and the discover all her other books because they make life just so much better!

Great start to a new Marie Force series.
It's witty, funny and just plain and simply fun! If you're new to Marie Force I encourage you to check out her Fatal series and her Gansett Island series with the McCarthy's. Absolutely great books. My favorite thus far has been the McCarthy's. But, I think the Abbotts and their mountain may have moved Marie Force to my number one and Marie Force to my number 2 and 3 favorite author series. She's that good. The synopsis tells you what you need to know about the story. You have to ready the book and start the journey with the Abbott family, all 10 siblings. You won't be able to put it down. Thank you for a new series, Marie, and I look forward to the journey for all 10 siblings.

I love all of Marie Force's books including this one. However I am getting tired of the descriptions, like the one above for this book saying the book has 368 when in fact it has only 285 pages, and that includes the advertisements on the last few pages.
B & N can you explain the difference in the amount of pages in this situation?

Review: Three stars for Marie Force's predictable romance All Yo

Review: Three stars for Marie Force's predictable romance All You Need is Love, the first book in her new Green Mountain series

I love reading romances. I love reading small town romances. What I don’t love is feeling like I’m reading a formula romance. You know, let’s set a series in a feel good place, think up some quirky outlandish characters, invent a town mascot, and voila, have a bestselling series. I know this happens to some extent with many romance novels, I'm not that naive, but when I open up the first book in a series and just feel manipulated as a reader from almost the first few pages? Not cool, definitely not cool.

However, I try to be an impartial reader and if a few things strike me as fake at first, I let them slide. Then came the six figure cost for a website, that was accepted without going out to bid. Oh boy, that just set my BS meter off and I felt like I was talking with a friend back in the late ’90s when everyone had to have a website and costs like that might not have seemed outlandish. Now, a retailer (not an Amazon, but a small town retailer) wouldn’t need to invest more than say a quarter of that proposed figure to have a more than decent storefront. Having worked with web designers who’ve developed award-winning sites most of my professional life, I’m secure in stating this. But hey, this is a romance so nothing is really based on facts, right?

Big sigh from me as I type those words, because that’s a cop out. I could just say, hey, this is a “fun” romance from a New York Times bestselling author, pick it up, and feel good for the two plus hours it might take you to read it. But I wouldn’t be honest. It’s a trite, formulaic, and boring (yes, that’s the kicker, boring) story. When the formula is so evident that it screams at the reader from the first page; the characters drawn to be charming, but just really blah; and the family that’s featured has ten children, so you know that this new series will have at least ten books (great franchise, right), I just give up. Truly give up.

If you haven’t already guessed, yes, I’m talking about indie powerhouse author Marie Force, of the McCarthys of Gansett Island fame, and her new book
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE, the first in her Green Mountain series to be published by Berkley (Penguin).

Many of my relatives settled near or in the Northeast Corner area of Vermont, which Force depicts in her book, so I’ve visited it many times. I love Vermont, the rural settings, and I tend to love books set in there - Beth Ciotta’s Cupcake Lovers series and Sarah Morgan’s O’Neil Brothers series spring to mind - but found myself cringing with Force’s depiction of her cobbled together town.

By mid-way through the book I was skipping pages in my Kindle, which I never do. By the time I completed it, I was just bored out of my mind and really felt cheated by this author whom I had admired. To be absolutely frank, I hadn’t liked her two most recent Gansett Island books as I felt that they were rushed and - get this - more formulaic than necessary. However, I attributed this to the fact she might be getting tired of that series, so was really looking forward to her new series and new book that I thought would be energized once again with the passion of the early Gansett Island books. Perhaps my expectations were too high? I’m not sure, but this was almost a DNF and I never ever don’t finish a book.

If you’re looking for a predictable, “sweet,” unchallenging, and “charming” romance you could borrow this book from the library (I don’t advise you to add it to your permanent shelf as I doubt you’ll want to read it again). But really, if you’re looking for a series set in Vermont that really is interesting, pick up any of Beth Ciotta’s Cupcake Lovers books or indeed Sarah Morgan’s Sleigh Bells in the Snow - you’ll have a much more enjoyable read and introduction to this beautiful area.

As I don’t award half stars, I’m rounding up and giving three stars to Marie Forces’s ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE, a too predicable and formulaic read for this reviewer to truly enjoy.

I've heard nothing but good things about Marie Force's books and was really excited to give this new series of hers a try!

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE is entertaining albeit predictable as far as contemporary romances go, but sometimes that's exactly what you want, a good mix of fun, swoon and a happy ending.

    Romantic.

Romantic. A sweet love story and good start to a series. Not really many ups or downs but, an underlying problem throughout. Still told, a wholesome romance (with sex scenes) with family values. Great characters and NOT TOO MUCH set up for next in series. I hate over kill, we read between the lines, we're not stupid. I look forward to future books. Recommended.

    S.A.K.

I totally fell in love with Butler, Vermont, Green Mountain and the Abbott family. This book was another home run for Marie Force. I have a feeling this series is going to rank just as high as her Gansett Island series.

There was so much feeling, love and humor in this book. At first I wasn't sure what to think of Will with his gruff attitude but he quickly won me over as did Cameron. You could feel her loneliness through the story and her yearning for love and family. There couldn't be better pair and the Abbott family was heartwarming and funny. And last but not least who wouldn't love the town moose "Fred". Absolutely recommend and give it 5 stars.

** 4.5 stars ** All You Need is Love is a love story, a family

    ** 4.5 stars **

All You Need is Love is a love story, a family story, an opposites attract story of a city girl falling in love with a mountain man (and his family), leaving both wondering how to fit into each other's life, if that's possible at all.

Cameron is the daughter of a self-made billionaire, but has strived to make her own way. She has a rough romantic track record, always falling to hard and fast, ending with a broken heart. Her mother died in childbirth and her father is distant, longs for a family like the Abbotts. This city girl might seem like a fish-out-of-water when she crashed into the town, but she instead genuinely falls in love with the town's slower pace and charm, the store and community she's there to learn about, and the Abbott family.

Will Abbott was gruff and a bit grumpy in the beginning. Turns out he's charming, rugged mountain man with no interest in cell phones or pop culture, loves his family and his job. Will is still smarting from a former relationship w/a woman who seems to be similar to Cam, from the city and not interested in a quieter life in Vermont. I loved how flustered Will got when his brothers flirted with Cam, and it made him all growly (and reckless). Of course, this made the brothers flirt even more, which had me laughing. Honestly, though, Will is really the greatest type of book hero. He's not into casual sex or just getting some and moving on. He's not reluctant of evasive with his fast-developing feelings for Cam. He wants all of her, not just her body. This is the real deal.

I know practically nothing a about Vermont, but like Cam, I was charmed almost immediately. Force seems to have a great sense of detail necessary to create the perfect picture because this southern girl had no problem imagining herself in the snowy mountains of Vermont. And while the heart of the plot is one I'm very familiar with, All You Need is Love still managed to feel new and especially endearing.

Glimpses into the nine other siblings' lives provide a good incentive to become invested in the series. They were each dynamic, interesting characters and I can easily see myself loving all of them as much as Will. In a turn I found to be very cool, the epilogue seems to reveal that a couple of family members may play as big a part in Cam and Will's story as fate. And they're not above a bit of scheming to do the same for the other siblings.

All You Need is Love is small town feel-good romance with a charming heroine, a vulnerable mountain man hero and his engaging family that any reader would want to be part of. I can't wait to go back to Green Mountain.

    Favorite Quotes

"If you fall in love with me, Cameron Murphy, I'll never let you go."
Crying in earnest now, she shook her head. "Don't make promises you can't keep."
"I'm thirty-three years old. I've spent ten years mourning the one woman I loved who didn't deserve my love. You crashed into my life two days ago, and it's like those ten years never happened. Please don't make me spend the next ten years wishing you'd given me a chance."
    "You're not being fair."
"If you fall in love with me, I'll never let you go."

He was the nicest, sweetest, sexiest guy she'd ever known, and in that moment she knew she was ruined for all others. There would never be another quite like Will Abbott, and the thought of leaving here and never seeing him again broke something in her.

    Loved It!

If you have ever visited the Vermont Country Store in Weston, VT, you simply MUST read this book... As someone who makes the trek to this unique spot twice a year I loved every word on every page of this Marie Force story... Loved Will and Cameron and the whole family of 10 kids... Sets things up for a long series and I can hardly wait... One of my favorite authors has chosen one of my favorite places as the setting for this series and as usual she has "hit it out of the park"... Even if you are not familiar with the Vermont Country Store you will love the story and then go to the Vermont Country Store web site to see the "real thing"..

The kind of reader that would love this book is someone from the east coast origianaly, needs a break from non-fiction, and one that holds your attention all the way through. I can't wait for "I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND". Don't understand why B&N doesn't have it since it is available on Amazon and Kindle.
