Allen Carr’s “Easy Way to Stop Smoking”

A Prospective View on Why People Smoke

“Easy Way to Stop Smoking” is an optimistic view and inspirational approach method created by Allen Carr to assist people who currently smoke or use tobacco, to quit. If you are a seldom, special occasion or heavy tobacco user/smoker, Carr’s “Easy Way to Stop Smoking” book will not only enlighten you on the reason why you smoke or use tobacco products, it will also influence you to quit. Carr was a heavy smoker for a majority of his life and after several attempts to quit; he discovered an easy way to break the tobacco addiction. Upon his success, he established “Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking Clinics” and wrote numerous books that have been published in fifty different countries and in twenty-six languages. His incredible reputation for success in assisting tobacco users to quit holds the highest success rate in the quit smoking industry. His major goal is to educate smokers on the reason why they smoke. This is much different approach from the standard “why you should quit’ methodology. By exposing the effects of nicotine additives commonly found in most tobacco products, Carr explains the strategies, reasoning, and relationship the drug has to promote smoking.
Carr’s details expose the tobacco industry’s strategies to lure people into the smoking addiction. He also describes the targeted audiences in which the tobacco company’s are attempting to capture and the practices that they implement to influence people to smoke. However, the companies are not the only beneficiaries of the revenues; he also expands on how every Government benefits from the sales by imposing sales taxes, which is highly depended on. Why else would they not intervene or regulate the ingredients?
Carr further explains the addiction of nicotine, which is common to any other drug dependency. Once you have the chemical in your system, you subconsciously crave for the next dosage. Carr himself smoked a hundred cigarettes a day to fulfill his addiction needs. He insists that if you remove the nicotine dependency, you will no longer have the desire to smoke. He is convinced that “smokers” are brainwashed into believing that they require this drug to function normally.
His psychological approach to assist smokers to quit, offers different views and perspectives that are very convincing. He explains the strengths and weakness that you need to apply and overcome to be successful to quit smoking. In reality, it is quite simple and removes the fear of the unknown. His detailed instructions cover all the benefits that a person will enjoy without the need to smoke. In today’s society, smoking is not as attractive as once portrayed in the nineteenth-century. It is not glamorous, healthy or even accepted in most places.
Carr’s opposite approach in this book will beyond doubt, capture the attention of every smoker that is trying to quit. His optimistic views and objective is to educate and explain the reason why people smoke. He does not dwell on health issues caused by smoking or any other current scare tactics that are imposed to warn smokers about the harm and effects of smoking. His realistic ideas and methods provide constant reminders of a message that he is trying enforce throughout the book. If the information and guidance is understood, there is no way a person would continue to smoke after reading this book.

A Must if you are Serious about Escaping

I am now the 4th Person I know that has quit smoking after reading this book. Two very important points: 1. I believe you must be fairly serious about your desire for stopping 2.Being able to smoke while I was reading was extremely important for the impact of this book. I have smoked 1- 1.5 packs of cigarretts for 17 Years. I set a quit date, ESCAPED from the addiction and am Abslutely certain that I will never smoke again. I have been smoke free for over 3 months and do not crave or feel like I" have survived" three months. I rarely think about it except once in a while and quickly appreciate the fact that I have control and no longer am a slave to it.I have ONLY gained 4 lbs. because I have not substituted anything for the poison. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book for everyone and have already purchased5 copies for all my friends and family. It is great not having to spend $ on replacement therapies, gums, patches, acupuncture, hypnatised etc...and this cost me under $13.00 TOTAL

    So glad to be free

I was preparing to quit smoking - again - by going on nicotine gum and patches. Since I had already made the decision to quit, there seemed no harm in reading Allan Carr's book, which I found in the library. I actually made the decision to quit once I had finished the book (the same day) and I didn't bother to buy the gum or patches - didn't need to, because by some means which still mystifies me today, I was free of the compulsion to smoke by the time I completed the book. That was three years' ago in July.

    Effective despite poor writing

Allan Carr is a bad writer and at times an offensive one. It is a testament to the effectiveness of his theories that I finished this book. I was a hardcore smoker who never wanted or tried to quit; I read Carr's book to prove that it couldn't make me quit smoking. I stopped smoking on the day I finished the book and haven't had a puff for the past year and a half.

The best news in the world

My partner smoked a pack for 27 years and after trying various methods to give up with no success was resigned to the fact that he may be a smoker for life. Recently, I found the book and read it first. I was so fascinated and amazed at what Allen Carr had to say, I managed to convince my partner to read it! Now he is a non-smoker and tells all his smoking friends about it! He says I have saved his life - but really its a big thanks to Allen Carr!

it sounds like a cliche but it really works

I quit smoking when my first son was born, My wife did and I couldn't continue, right? He now is 8 years old and we started smoking again two years ago My wife bought the book and on our recent holiday in France I started to read it And indeed I smoked a lot while reading the book, like a last excuse, but then 30 miles from Caen, on our way back we shared our last cigarette, I still have the filter and I'm planning to frame it because I KNOW that that was the last cigarette I ever did smoke You really touched me Allen and I thank you for it

Add me to the list of successful quitters!!

This book changed everything about the way I viewed smoking and gave me the tools I needed to become a successful quitter! 14 months and counting. I was a pack and a half a day smoker who had tried prescriptions/patches/gums, etc to no avail. This absolutely did it for me!

    Anniversary

I've just passed my year anniversary since reading the book and escaping cigarettes. Just wanted to help convince nonbelievers that this book is the real deal. It does exactly what the title says: makes it easy to stop smoking. All I did was read the book, and it was like someone flipped a switch in my brain: instant nonsmoker. If you're on the fence about whether to get this book, let me pull you into giving it a try. Hey, it costs less than a couple packs of cigarettes, so why not? It could be one of the best long term values of your life, as it was with me.

And here's the 40th review on Amazon!!!!!

OK, lots of nice reviews here. As the 40th reviewer, let me give you mine. 15yr-smoker, 20-30 a day, very cynical, smart and paid enough such that the cost of smoking doesn't ever come into it. This book uses no scare tactics, so do not be afraid to buy this book, it's only the price of a couple of packs. So I read the book a couple of days ago, took my time, ignored anything about 'this is a book you cannot put down'. I appreciated Mr Carr saying that I could continue to smoke as I read his book, so I took a couple of days to read it. Please excuse me as I make my point. I could not move fast enough to get that f***ing s**t out of my life. I threw all my gear straight into the trash can. After completing the book, it took about three f***ing seconds to stop smoking and I cannot wait for 3 days time when that S**t is out of my bloodstream. I do _not_ smoke now, thank you. Thank you Mr Carr, as you promised, I am enjoying the withdrawl symptoms after just a couple of days... Richard, UK.

    You need to read this.

I recommend this book to anyone who has ever considered stopping smoking. Mr. Carr really knows how to get into a smoker's mind like no one else because he has been in the same place. You will enjoy reading this. It is not boring and is well worth the time spent reading it.

This book really worked for me and everyone I have recommended it to. (those who actually read it that is!) I had tried the patch, cold turkey, and the gum with no success and I am so proud to say I stopped smoking 2 years ago!

    Good book

This book is really good. I'd recommend any smoker to read this, even if you're not looking to quit. For some people, it helped them quit, for me, so far, I'm still smoking. However, it really does add insight that WILL help you quit. For me, I think I'm just still scared. This book is worth the read. I will most likely re-read it too, and hopefully it will eliminate my fear. It adds insight to things you never really think about, and puts it all into perspective.

The book is a little annoying at times and repetitive, but I believe Allen Carr did that on purpose to instill the information in your brain. Overall, very worth it.

Nothing to lose and everything to gain

I have to admit I read the book twice. After reading this book I stopped smoking for a year or so and due to certain circumstances I returned to the slave of nicotene! I have now been a non- smoker for approx. 2 years and cannot imagine EVER going back. The book is unique in its methods and really gets you thinking. I don't try to encourage people to stop because they have to want to but I do suggest that they try reading the book as there is nothing to lose and it takes no time at all. I was so impressed and couldn't believe how disgusted I felt with myself for waisting so many healthy years! I now feel alot better, my breathing has improved and walking isn't an effort like it used to be. I used to trance smoke when I was drinking and wonder how I could ever go out and not have my cigarettes by my side, sometimes smoking 35 a night!

It's been over a year now!

I STRONGLY recommend this book to all of my friends that smoke, and either think about quitting or not. I was in no way ready or wanting to quit, I joined a challenge consisting of a few friends to quit, I hadn't even really wanted to quit at the time and wasn't too excited or pumped to quit. However, just reading half of this book made it the easiest thing I have ever done! I have borrowed it to many people and/or told them to go buy the book and where to find it. It's worked for soooooo many people, the word needs to get out more about this book. It's an EXCELLENT book and more people need to know about it!

    I'M FREE !!!

I was recommended this wonderful book by a woman called Allison from Sydney whilst I was holidaying in Bali last August - thank you Allison and Allan Carr. I lent the book to a friend (to test it and I wasn't yet ready???). It worked for her and her boyfriend and now all three of us are non-smokers. Allan's method is not only easy it has been a celebration from the time I stopped- more money, better health, no feelings of being a leper in social gatherings. Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful!
