Michael J. Welch, MD, FAAAAI, FAAP, CPI, is a board-certified specialist in allergy and immunology and is the codirector of the Allergy and Asthma Medical Group and Research Center in San Diego. He is also a clinical professor at the University of California–San Diego. He lives in San Diego. American Academy of Pediatrics is an organization of 60,000 primary care pediatricians, pediatric medical subspecialists, and pediatric surgical specialists dedicated to the health, safety, and well-being of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.
