Overview

Partnership in Blood Volume One

Can a desperate wizard and a bitter, disillusioned vampire find a way to build the partnership that could save their world?

In a world rocked by magical war, vampires are seen by many as less than human, as the stereotypical creatures of the night who prey on others. But as the war intensifies, the wizards know they need an advantage to turn the tide in their favor: the strength and edge the vampires can give them in the battle against the dark wizards who seek to destroy life as they know it.

In a dangerous move and show of good will, the wizards ask the leader of the vampires to meet with them, so that they might plead their cause. One desperate man, Alain Magnier, and one bitter, disillusioned vampire, Orlando St. Clair, meet in Paris, and the fate of the world hangs in the balance of their decision: Will the vampires join the cause and form a partnership with the wizards to win the war?

I expected there to be a lot more action in this novel given that it takes place in during a battle between wizards and other supernatural beings. Instead this is a very beautiful character driven piece. The entire book spans a time period of approximately 3-4 consecutive days and revolves around a few key characters who are working to form the beginning of an alliance between the good wizards and the vampires against the bad (murdering torturing) wizards. The book focuses on the backstories of several characters and how they work together trying to overcome misunderstandings between the two races. While there is one battle at the very end of the book pretty much the entire book is about the individuals talking to each other, forming friendships (and more) and cementing the rules of the alliance. I love character driven books, so I really enjoyed this one but if you were looking for something with a lot of physical action and adventure this will not be what your looking for.

    Liked the story a lot

A group of dark wizards are rebelling against the established order. In France, the Millice (the group of wizards that are on the side of the government and the established groups) fights against them, trying to restore the equilibrium of magic in the world ¿ the imbalance has caused all sorts of chaos in the world, in the forms of storms and other disasters. Marcel, the leader of the Millice, has contacted the Chef de la Cour of the vampires of Paris to join with them against the dark wizards. Alain has volunteered to be the one to initially meet with a vampire in order to discuss the alliance. Alain is fearful but determined to help cement the alliance. What he doesn¿t expect is the instant attraction to Orlando, the vampire with whom he meets that night. Nor does he expect how enticing Orlando¿s bite would be. Wizards and vampires have forgotten what they once knew about each other, however ¿ will they be able to overcome their instinctive distrust and work together to make this alliance a success? M/m-based romantic-suspense vampire novels are a genre I only recently discovered, and I¿m finding that I quite enjoy them, even if some of the more ¿ explicit scenes make me a bit uncomfortable. This has a great story, which I am enjoying a great deal. I like the world that Tachna has created, her versions of vampires and wizards, and particularly the interaction and bonds she has come up with. I particularly like the fact that her ¿good guys¿ are open-minded and non-judgmental as a whole ¿ while there are certainly some who are jerks, taken as a whole they want the best for the world without being overly controlling. If you like vampire stories and interesting plots and ideas, this is a great book for you to read. There are four books in the ¿Partnership in Blood¿ series, and 2 spin-off books which I am in the process of reading. Watch for my reviews!

    Awesome Series!

I picked this up from a friend and read it in one weekend - I just couldn't put it down. Then I ordered the next book online and the series keeps getting better.

This is a perfect read for those of us that love a little action with our romance!
