Although Allure isn't an actual teen magazine, the beauty, style, fashion, and makeup tips that it contains are perfect for anyone who wants to look their best.

    ALLURE: CONFESSIONS OF A BEAUTY EDITOR is broken down into ten separate chapters, which makes it so easy to find the section you're looking for. Categories include Skin Care, Skin Problems, Face, Eyes, Lips, Nails, Haircut & Color, Hair Care & Style, Salons & Spas, and Body.

    What I found truly helpful about this book was the fact that every tip, whether it be how to keep your nails looking their best or how to help problem skin, is spelled out step-by-step to help you get the results you're looking for. Sure, we'd all like to look as glamorous and beautiful as the women pictured in the book; the fact of the matter is, that with the information Ms. Wells provides, we actually can!

    This is a great book for every female, regardless of age. The truth is that not everyone has the time, money, or expertise to magically look great on their own. But by using the guidelines given to us by Allure's editor-in-chief, anyone with a few minutes to spare and a copy of ALLURE: CONFESSIONS OF A BEAUTY EDITOR can look as if they just left from a day at the spa.

    Decent

    I'm an avid Allure reader and as such I think this book is decent. You could get the same information if you collected the 'How To' section from each magazine and bound them together. Add that with some input from Linda Wells and you have this book. I love her writing style but this is nothing totally new. However if you are a newbie Allure reader etc then I would highly recommend this book!

    I can't believe I didn't snatch this book up right away

    I can't agree with every detail, but the advice is great. I especially loved the way the book dispelled common beauty myths. And many of the 'beauty 911' fixes are really good.

    Good advice

    I agree that you can gain all this info just from reading allure. They are repeating. I was really hoping for some new info that I could learn. I guess it is good if you have no beauty knowledge at all, or don't read allure mag. I want them to go more in depth with perfume. Read Carmindy's book instead.

    its a compilation of the monthy articles!

    Their is nothing really in this book that isn't in the monthy Allure magazine.

    Funny, and fab with all the makeup advice you'll ever need!

    I had seen this book several times whilst looking through the shelves at Barnes and Noble, but I had never thought of picking it up. But one day, I just bought it. In a matter of hours I had devoured the entire book. It is crammed with information on everything, and has helpful hints and tips on every imaginable makeup dilemma. Also, it dispels those rumors that everyone believes, even the totally ludicrous I absolutely recommend this book to any woman of any age. The tips can be used by anyone, and with chapters laid out in a sensible manner, it makes it easy to find the perfect shade of eyeliner or the right brush for your powder. An all around success!
