If your tired of the really dramatic romantic books then this is a great book to read.Its lay back romance with cute humor,it does have drama but not to the point your going nuts.'Almost perfect'is about Maddy and her friends makeing a bet to face their fears. And on Maddy's path of doing so leads her face to face with her high school sweetheart,which that didn't end well back then.A great light romance!

I thought this book was a satisfying read. Maddy is a widowed artist, coming to work as an art director at a summer camp. Coincidentally, the summer camp is run by her old flame, Joe. The story was light and fun, very enjoyable. What I didn't like was the history behind Joe and Maddy. The history behind them was obvious, however, the author left most of it unexplained, in my opinion. She offered tempting glimpses, but I don't think she allowed them to truly conquer their pasts. The ending was a bit abrupt, and forced. It wasn't quite in tune with the rest of the other story. However, I did find this book an overall good read. Light and fun, makes a good afternoon read.

I enjoyed this book so much I had to download the other 2. This was the first I read by this author and I will be reading all her other books and eagerly waiting for anything new!!

Never read book by this author but think she did fabulous job with this one, plan to read the whole trilogy. I can't believe some of the negative comments on this book, I guess some people are so jaded they enjoy nothing. Get Real.

I liked this book. Good story line and good characters. It was too long though. The author dragged some parts along and i caught myself skimming over alot ofpages.

The longest book with no story ever. Had to stop could not vet through it. Same long boring sex scencea but no plot. Save yourself

However, they become angry when they realize Jane used the trio as classic examples of how fear can destroy your life. Angry and feeling ridiculed, the threesome detest that Jane is right. Motivated, they vow to prove little Ms. Perfect wrong by regaining the passion they lost when they allowed phobias to paralyze them. Artist Maddy is to get any Santa Fe gallery to display her work. To achieve the objective Maddy obtains work as the Arts & Crafts Coordinator at Mama Fraser¿s Camp Enchantment. Fraser¿s son Joe also works there as director. Years ago Maddy rejected Joe¿s proposal of marriage as she chose art school over being a military spouse. Ultimately she lost both as her fervor for the arts vanished with Joe leaving her life. Though frightened, she is more scared that Joe is there and she still feels her heart beat like crazy for him though he seems to reject her as yesterday¿s news. --- The first of the ¿perfect¿ tales is a fun story with a strong male lead whose heart was once crushed by the more tenuous female counterpart choosing ice cream flavors is difficult for Maddy. However, readers will wonder not just whether Maddy meets the challenge that her two buddies dared her with, but also how will she overcome Joe¿s animosity towards her. College suite-mates gather together when one of them publishes a book on How to Have a Perfect Life. Maddy, Christine and Amy are thrilled that Jane has become successful. That is until they find out that Jane has used each of them as examples of what not to do in her book. Using the book as a impetus to do something about each of their lives, they collectively make a bet with each other to do something that they have been afraid of, and according to the book, holding them back from achieving the perfect life.
Maddy, the free spirited artist gave up the love of her life to pursue her dreams, yet didn't quite make it due to life. Now she has a chance to go back and try it again, but needs to face the love of her life again. Years older and wiser how will they react to each other. You must read the book to find out.
Almost Perfect by Julie Ortolon is a nice escape into the art world. The fact that this story takes place in New Mexico was attractive to me because I have lived in the Southwest for over a decade. The art world is very fascinating and I think that Ms. Ortolon has done a really great job incorporating this into the storyline and drawing the reader in that world.
Sometimes with romance trilogies, the stories end up being a little cheeky, but book one of this series is anything but that. I love the fact that there was some antagonism between Maddy and her former flame Joe. Not only does she have to face him again but she has to turn to him in order to fulfill her end of the bet she made with Christine and Amy. Best of all, Joe and Maddy don't immediately fall back into it again. It takes a bit because Joe isn't...well Joe...well, read and find out!
The book is a "perfect" length to read in a weekend and naturally leads into the next book of the series.
