If your tired of the really dramatic romantic books then this is a great book to read. Its lay back romance with cute humor,it does have drama but not to the point your going nuts.'Almost perfect'is about Maddy and her friends makeing a bet to face their fears. And on Maddy's path of doing so leads her face to face with her high school sweetheart, which that didn't end well back then.A great light romance!

I thought this book was a satisfying read. Maddy is a widowed artist, coming to work as an art director at a summer camp. Coincidentally, the summer camp is run by her old flame, Joe. The story was light and fun, very enjoyable. What I didn't like was the history behind Joe and Maddy. The history behind them was obvious, however, the author left most of it unexplained, in my opinion. She offered tempting glimpses, but I don't think she allowed them to truly conquer their pasts. The ending was a bit abrupt, and forced. It wasn't quite in tune with the rest of the other story. However, I did find this book an overall good read. Light and fun, makes a good afternoon read.

Never read book by this author but think she did fabulous job with this one, plan to read the whole trilogy. I can't believe some of the negative comments on this book, I guess some people are so jaded they enjoy nothing. Get Real.

Really surprised at some of the comments. It was not 619 pages as my nook indicated. After you take out the table of contents, epilogue, excerpts you wind up with 516 nook pages. I do have a couple of negatives (spelling mistakes & everytime Joe and Maddy needed to discuss an obstacle they would start making out.  In my opinion - this would have been a better two part book. Some of the time frames were bam not handled well. (ie: On one page Maddy and Joe were talking about Derrick coming to visit in a couple of weeks and BAM the next page Joe was walking in the door with Derrick). Kinda choppy throughout different parts with the same "time frame" issues. Just think some of the story line could have been written a little better. Then it just ended without the storyline being brought to a good close. I know the writer was leaving some of the 'story' to our imagination....but really left out some good parts of the story. Overall, good characters (love Mama) and I will purchase the other two in this trilogy.

This book started out good but went to long over the same things. To much sex not inspirational enough. 200 to 250 pages would have beem quite enough. Just tell each other you Love them already. Jeez

Very enjoyable book. A good balance in all the different sections of the book. A must read for anyone who enjoys a good romance novel. Well written and does not have overly done sex that would embarras most readers. I will reccomend this book to my family and friends.

Thiis book is the first in a three part series. Part "buddy movie" part "finding your bliss" it opens with three friends discovering the fourth has used them as "bad examples" of how fears can stop people, in this case women, from getting the most out of life. After their intial anger, the three make a pact to conquer their biggest fear within a year. Maddie, a recent widow who set aside her budding art career to care for her husband's work and his life during his last illness, has decided to get out there and BE an artist, setting getting shown in a gallery as her goal. She accepts a positon with her former love's adoptive mother's summer camp as Arts and Crafts director, slamming open a door she was sure was closed bolted and locked tight, as it dawns on her that she will be working for her High School Sweetheart. It's one of the bravest things she has ever done,...or the stupidist. With the job come a reawakened friendship, and love, for the boy she dumped, now a man returned home to help save his mother's camp. Through him, she also reawakens the artist, and serendipitously finds a gallery/ publisher willing to take her on. Is it just for the summer? Will she stay on? Will she and her lover work it out? Will they trust enough to see how "perfect" things are? I really liked this book. I cared for Maddie and what was happening, crying and times and laughing so hard at others. I will DEFINATELY read the other two in the trilogy, and possibly others in her repetiore.
