    Well worth the small price for admission

    One of the best novella's I have read in some time. The story doesn't give away the twist too soon and is subtle in its' approach.

    Hmmmm... not bad

    This is the first book by keene I have read. I'm not sure if it is indicative of his style or not. I can say that this was a quick read and went down with the minimum of fuss. I enjoyed it from beginning to end and never regretted spending the money to buy it. That said... yeah, I figured out the twist by the beginning of the second chapter. Beyond that though, for such a short book I felt that there is a lot of unneeded fluff in it. The main character, for example, didn't need to be gay. I don't really care either way... but for a short story anything that doesn't concern the plot has to be stripped out and the main characters sexuality has no effect on the plot. I also felt the end came more in a flood of expositiin rather than organically. Good read though.

    Wow!

    Brian Keene's first self-published novella about a man who wakes up to find his partner and adopted daughter gone, and his neighbors missing inexplicably, with his street shrouded in a gray haze is frightening and heart wrenching. Not as extreme as some of his work but still worthy and shows the breadth and richness of his talents.
