Meet the Author

Kendra Elliot began writing fiction when she participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in 2005. Though she considered herself a romance writer at the time, she found that her heroines kept tripping over dead bodies, and it was then she realized her niche was in romantic suspense. In 2010, her novel Stronger Than Bone (later published as Hidden) was a finalist in the Romance Writers of America’s prestigious Golden Heart Awards contest, which led her to her agent and ultimately the publication of her debut novel. In addition to the Golden Heart, she was a Romantic Times Top Pick in March 2013. A lifelong native of the Pacific Northwest, Elliot makes her home with her husband, three children, two cats, and a Pomeranian.

Kendra Elliott delivers another gripping tale of romance and suspense in Alone, a bone secrets novel.

Dr. Victoria Peres a well know Forensic Anthropologist is called to a very haunting crime scene on a dark and rainy night. It's hard to get the image of six young attractive girls all dressed in white and placed in a circle. There is one lone survivor and she is fighting for her life. But this crime scene has been seen before many years ago. Are the two scenes connected?  As Victoria and her coworkers work to solve the crimes, her first love is signing on as the new Medical Examiner for the city of Portland.

Dr. Seth Rutledge knew Portland was the city that had employed Victoria. He wasn't expecting to see her so soon after arriving in town, much less at a gruesome crime seen. Seth knew he hurt Victoria when she was in college but is hoping that they can start again. Will he be able to heal her broken heart after all this time?

Just as Seth and Victoria as beginning to get to know each other the person behind all this evil has his sites set on Victoria as well.  Can this renewed love outrun a killer?

Alone will keeping you on the edge all the way through the story. The characters will pull you into their lives and have you routing for them to survive. Seth and Victoria's history plays a role in their relationship and adds another level to their story. This whole series is a must read for the romantic suspense book lover. Eager to read more from this author. ¿

Six girls in white dresses are found in a circle in Forest Park, one girl is found to be still hanging on, barely alive. Police soon realize that this case is very similar to a cold case many decades old. Victoria Peres is called in to help them piece together the puzzle of the decades old murders that may hold the answers to the new case. Will she be able to put the pieces together in time or will she be the next victim? And what happens when someone from her past shows up in the ME's office?!!
This is a great story and keeps you hooked from the first chapter!
Victoria has always been one of my favorite characters, her job fascinates me! She has never had her own story before and I am so glad she finally got a chance to tell it!

Victoria Peres, the anti-social forensic anthopologist that we know from previous Bone Secrets novels, is now the main character. In this book we get to really know the ice-queen and she's not a cold person.

Victoria gets to what will be considered a murder scene, in the Forest Park, of 5 young girls; all the victims show no sign of harm, they're all dressed with white dresses and have no shoes and their long hair is black. This intrigues the Police and first they admit the possibility of collective suicide.

However, soon they realize this case is similar to one of 45 years ago and the investigations turns to a dangerous and suspenseful path.

I enjoyed reading this thrilling case, it got me scratching my head with the developments and ended with an intense and horrifying scene, with the highly-disturbing mastermind of this crime (and not just this one of the 5 girls in Forest Park).

I could never guess the personal role Victoria would play in this role/case.

Along with the investigation of the murders, Victoria's story develops with Seth Ruthledge, a candidate to the medical examiner job and with which Victoria fel in love 20 years ago. Their love story and the reasons to have them separated are sad, but Seth is determined to win her back.

I loved to know better about Victoria, how and why she's how she is; I always enjoyed knowing those dry, strong and almost rude characters that scare the other characters and the readers, they always show how they come from situations in the past that force them to be like that so they can go on. I'm happy to know Victoria's heart.
