forgive the past, accept today, hope for tomorrow...

"Alone Orphaned on the Ocean" do not hesitate to buy this book, read it and be prepared to have shivers down your spine. The unquestioned power of faith, love, and family brought me to my knees to give thanks to that undying spirit this 11 year child, now woman possesses. I couldn't help but cry tears of sadness for the loss this child endured, but I also cried tears of joy for the absolute, irrefutable, unfailing love and nuturing sent to Tere not only from her immediate family but the outpouring of love from around the world. Their is no doubt in this readers mind Tere Duperrault-Fassbender was saved for a reason! Read the Book and decide forself.

    Amazing Story!

This story really touched my heart. It was through the pwoer of God that that young lady, now a grown woman, survived. Then, to find the courage to share her story with others absolute amazes me. She is proof that you can reclaim your life, despite anything that can happen to you. I applaud her and thank her for sharing her life, so others too can heal.

    A Remarkable Story

Growing up in Ft. Lauderdale in the 60's I vividly remember this incident. Like Terry Jo, I was eleven years old when the Bluebelle sank and I remember thinking at the time that there was no way I could have survived the brutal death of my whole family and then being cast adrift on the ocean for four days. Unfortunately the sinking of the Bluebelle was the end of my innocence as I realized for the first time that there were human monsters in the world who were perfectly capable of performing random acts of violence and that no one was ever really "safe" from people like Captain Harvey. After all these years I was glad to read this survival story and see what happened to Terry Jo. She is obviously a courageous woman who didn't become bitter after losing her family in such a violent way and is a person who has gone on to have a happy life. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to celebrate the life of a very courageous woman and be inspired by a real-life heroine.

    Inspirational, thought provoking, great read!

ALONE gives the reader a sense of the vast openness of the world and how one moment in time can shape a life. It is an amazing story of survival and the will to live. It will also leave you with the sense that life is definitely worth living and if you ride the storm long enough you will always find clear skies ahead.
