I loved this book so much, I went back and bought books 2 and 3. Its very well written and has a great storyline, and I loved that the main character is a strong female.

This story gets your attention fast. The characters in this story seem real and well developed. I have read all the books so far and cannot wait until the next installment. This is not a teen book although they could read it. U

This 413 page book is very violent. It is also very good. There is so much blood, gore guts, decapitation and nastiness to last a reader a life time, backed into these pages. I am unsure if it is well edited or not as I was so engrossed in the story I did not notice any mistakes. I want to read the second book but am almost afraid too, because this one was so disturbing. I think this book would be a little much for tweens to read. But readers 16 and older should be able to handle it. No sex or cursing. Both males and females would find this book disturbingly entertaining. This reminds of the tenseness of the Halloween movies with Jamie Lee Curtis, when they first came out. AD

A would give this a million stars if I could. This book is slightly like an adult version of the X-Men.

This was an excellent book! I will be getting the rest of the series. It drops you in the middle of the action and doesn't let up! I agree with another reviewer that said it is sort of like an adult X-Men, more sophisticated.

Overall, this if a very good book. The characters are believable and the story is good. I do like this book very muchand would read the next installments of the series. There were, however, a few problems in the beginning of the book. For instence, throughout the book, therewas too much build up. There is only a certain amount of time that a reader wants to be asking the same question. It annoyed me a little bit tatI was asking just aboutthesame thing for the entirety of the novel. It made it feel as if I were stuck within that question. On the other hand, I did enjoy it. It was a fun, somewhat heavy read. But I liked it.

First person female narration again? It's been played. Main character is annoying to read. Some interesting plot points but not interesting enough to make up for being in that girl's head the whole book.

Read this in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. Well paced story and great lead character. Looking forward to reading book 2. I need to know what happened to her mother.

Oookkkkkk This book was not at all of what i expected. Everything was in a flash nonsense turned into reality as i read this novel. Wonderful storyline wonderfully exicuted Anyway i would not recommend it for kids There is some use of language as well as some actions. I know ill be reading the next book. If you're looking for a clash of reality fansty ... this is where it starts. ~Charlotte~

I am the newest super- fan of Robert J Crane's. I just read all the books released in "The Girl in the Box" series and I cannot wait for the next one. I stumbled across this series by chance and now I am reading everything RJC has written, even his blog, lol. First book in series is free and others are under $6. Try them, they are easy reading, excellent stories and you will find yourself believing in metas.

I did not think this was written well. The book had a great beginning. I like starting a book in the middle of the action, however, it was hard to believe the main character's ability to deal with the outside world when she had been "in a box" for so many years. Intelligent does not imply wisdom and she seemed to know more of the outside world and could read people too well, given her background. Let's remember she only watched, at most, one hour of TV a day. She could not understand people that well. What goes on at the Directorate is never really explained and why are there "metas" living there? What is their purpose? I think we should have learned a little more about Wolfe and why he was so intent on "having" Sienna. What made him tick? Yes, you want to leave hooks for the next book but I believe the each book should also stand alone and be satisfying. I think the plot should have been better developed.
